Monday September 9th (aka This Board Feels Pointless)
Morning!
I know I can count the number of active members using my fingers (sans thumbs) and I know people have lives, but when the "daily thread" gets 1 reply on Fri & none of Sat or Sun, I can't help but feel this board is pointless If you're reading this, I'm not mad at or upset with you, I just need to come to grips with what the board has become EDIT TO ADD: I'm not upset with any of you or anyone involved, I'm just upset with the past vs the present Anyway... I tried to work while watching football on the TV & keeping track of my 5 Fantasy Football teams on my 2nd monitor & that never leads to an amazing amount of work being done The usual Monday running & ASSIL stuff, plus my chiro moved my appt to today, so throw that wrench in to muck up my attempts to work. I also have the feeling my mom won't be in my house too much longer. 2 friends that she's known her entire life passed in the last few months & it's like she's just given up. She got up a grand total of 3 times yesterday, all bathroom runs. Wrap your head about that: You wake up, get out of bed around 9AM (that's 1) Go back to bed, watch TV, get up a couple hours later around 1PM (that's 2) Go back to bed, watch TV, get up a couple hours later around 5PM (that's 3) Rinse & Repeat. I emailed her doctors over the weekend, so this week should be all kinds of fun. Rambling... Enjoy! |

I do stop by daily but rarely post. Our lives here are pleasantly boring - not as boring as your mom's but still pretty much the same from one day to the next. I kind of like that. Before i left the US, it was work, eat, work sleep, repeat. Yes, I did go out for live music every chance I got but it was still the same routine.
I have been thinking the same thing with my mom, who turns 93 in just about 2 weeks. She gets more frail every year but is very healthy. She has outlived her ex-husband and her two youngest children. I worry that after this visit she will feel she has nothing to live for and give up. Her granddaughter conned some serious money out of her and has been disowned by everyone. Her great-grandchildren rarely pause in their lives to visit her. She has her cat and her folk dance friends but very little else. It scares me. She does get on Facebook from time to time. She has a masters in gerontology, so she certainly knows she needs to keep her mind active. We have already told her she will be speaking Finnish to us. It's her native language but she rarely uses it. But she has no purpose in life and that is what will drain her. Eyes are healing but my vision isn't quite 100% yet. My real close vision (like for needlework or reading) is great. However, the computer and I are still not really good friends again. I can tell I will be getting glasses for that and for distance as well. I seem to do better right now approving galleries and updating my network so I have been focusing my energies in that direction. Thanks to a nudge from someone on this board, I have managed 4 straight days of 30+ galleries added. i think that will increase a bit too as I get more organized and my vision settles down a bit more. I can't wait to get building again!!! I think I like that the best. I am also in my mad-crazy season of making Christmas ornaments that will go to Ronald McDonald House. I started this years ago as a way of coping with my depression. Got to have something to do besides porn, right? See what happens when I stop long enough to post? Did I ramble enough?

Good morning
I was away for the weekend golfing so didn't get a chance to stop by at all past Thursday. I think it's fine and has a point somewhat. I met up with JustRobert thanks to the board when I was in LA in July, the board came in handy |

Morning.
I've been coming by but not posting. Mid August until mid October is ragweed season and I feel like a wet noodle all of the time. I can't do anything. Good news is I'll soon have an appointment with an allergy specialists when the weather gets cold. That's promising. Today it's shopping and band practice. Tomorrow, it's background work so I'll be far from the city (and this board). Hope you have a great day! |

Interesting day at the doctors office. I was waiting for BP check and blood samples when two Chinese hookers walk into the waiting room. They sit down just in front of me so I had to pass by them for the checks.
After adjusting their ultra short short skirts a few times so I could see their panties, one pulls out a mirror and looks back at me, makes sure I am looking into her mirror then she flicks her tongue in a way I am sure you can imagine. After she did it 2-3 times I asked the wife, "Is that for you or for me?" lol Rest of the day was spent working and thinking of that MILF tongue. Flicking away...

Good Afternoon
Finally I've had my GF over, since she just became a grandmother she didn't want to risk being infected. (Yes, hottest GILF around ) I've been in a fruitless meeting at my other place, wonder why they needed me at all, but what happened next, made my day anyway Now I have to vote at our county election and then sling some porn. This mysterious disease killing dogs in Norway is still unknown, I usually don't get stressed about stuff like this. 24 dogs out of 420 000 ain't *that* many, but this one scares me. Her was perfect a few minutes ago Wish you all a great day Jlly |

Jolly - this may have spread to Finland as well.
https://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/f...nland/10961805 (In English) Teuva is my grandfather's home town. I am probably related to half of the town in one way or another. i can guarantee this will remain news and I will have The Husband also check Finnish language stories for more. That area does have a river but not very many lakes. While there may be algae in some of the slower moving rivers, it isn't likely. We do have problems with algae in some areas, but not that one.

As stated, I usually don't get stressed over stuff like this, but this one is scary ... Edit: A few years ago I experienced cat plague first hand. First of all, I don't know if this is called something else in English, Google translated it like this. Two cats we had was seemingly well fit. One disappeared, the other I found under the couch. It was to late, I had no car and I knew what it was. I just had to cuddle him his last hour. His sister probably died in the forest. I really don't want to experience this with my dog ... It was extremely fast too Jolly Last edited by jollyhumper; 2019-09-09 at 12:33 PM.. |

We will keep an eye on this one. The municipal vet did not believe that the dog that died in Teuva was related to what is going on in Norway. Still they are being careful. Now, one dog did recover so they may well get some information with a good exam. While they are taking hygiene precautions, she also stressed the vomiting and diahrrea are common dogs as their tummies are more sensitive to ours. Let's hope your baby stays healthy.
I went through the cat situation too. I lost my absolute soul mate to tainted cat food. I still miss him to this day.

Something like that happened in North America a while back. It was contaminated dog food.

I gave myself a 3 day weekend and tried doing as little work as possible otherwise I stop by here daily, thou I forgot yesterday, even if it's just to tell people to enjoy their day.
I'll also be completely MIA later this month for 4 or 5 days as my son is getting married and people are flying in from out of state to deal with. |
