Best Beatles song?

Sir Paul McCartney was in gig here yesterday. As I sit here 7:12am thinking if I should go to sleep soon, I started to thought what is the best Beatles song?

There is so many...but my #1 favourite is still "Girl". Perfect pop song and have just enough of melancholy (we Finns love that).

What's yours #1 Beatles song?

I cannot argue with "girl".
Now I am way too young to have heard them when they came out but my boyfriend had all of them and still has original 45's of the Beatles. I have heard girl and it is a great song although it did not become popular in its own right.
Hey Jude is one of those songs that just works for some reason and I do not know what it is. It is a must play!
Across the universe, is another haunting song. The chord structure, I do not know what it is about that one.
I could go on. The Beatles are a group that had so much when there was not much and it endures today. One of our local stations plays them a lot during the day, every day.

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

That's a fucking tough question - LOL I always liked The Beatles, but then agian who doesn't- LOL Last year I started to listen to all the later albums all over again & it's hard to find a crappy song (sure, some are a bit cheesy, but none are crappy)

Anyway, to make a long story short, I pick:

"I Want You (She's So Heavy)"

With the risk of being unpopular I have to admit... I don't like the Beatles.

I am with you...
But, the 2 people in the world is those who liked the Beatles when they were around and those that liked the Rolling Stones. I was a Stones kind of kid

I was more of a Stone's fan at the time, but there are many Beatle's songs which have struck a chord.

She's Leaving Home is a good example, and one of my favourites:

Wednesday morning at five o'clock
as the day begins
Silently closing her bedroom door
Leaving the note that she hoped would say more
She goes downstairs to the kitchen
clutching her handkerchief
Quietly turning the back door key
Stepping outside she is free

I love so many Beatles songs .. its hard to pick just one. I'll have to pick two since thats hard enough!

"While My Guitar Gently Sleeps" and "I Want You"

Those two are my favorites.

I heard it was Beatles or The Rolling Bones

Depends what mood I'm in, but I guess "Hey Jude"

Now, also, what's everyone's favorite Wings song? Mine's Jet!!!

Let me take you down
cuz were going to...
strawberry fields...
Nothing is real
and nothing to get hung about...
strawberry fields forever....

either that or...

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,I'm not half the man I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Friggin' impossible question to answer ... LOL. Maybe if you had asked which album we liked best, I could have picked one.

I guess for the sake of argument .... Hey Jude.

And I was (and am) a Beatles fan and a Stones fan. I hate Elvis.

My favorite song from a 'Beatle' is John's Imagine . Music just doesn't get better than that.

I think it must be the whole Magical Mystery Tour album.

Along the line of this topic I could probably extend this and ask

Who's your favorite 'Beatle'?
I'd go for Lennon (with all do respect to Paul, George and Ringo).

Beings I beat the skins for 13 years and learned to play by ear..."Ringo" was my favorite.

My favorite all time drummers were:

Ginger Baker > Cream>Blind faith

Jon Bonham > Led Zepplin
