November 9th and Trump Wins

Good Morning

Look like I'm buying a Ferrari since Los Angeles will probably be destroyed by a nuclear attack due to our new president. I've joked with my wife if it's Hillary I'll buy a Porsche but if it's I need to buy a Ferrari. Thou the reality is I don't think I could buy one because I know the service costs are Yuuuge so maybe I'll just upgrade the Porsche to the Turbo model. Reality is I'll cheap out and not buy either and die in a mushroom cloud thinking "I should of..."

On a much more serious note, remember the GOP added to their parties political platform that "internet pornography a public health crisis under an amendment". This has been a concern and why I have not thrown money at my biz as of yet, plus working on the house, for it may be time to move on to ???

Have a Make America Great Again Day!

It was a painful night to witness. Realized the outcome at 4:30am and went to bed.
I'm so sorry for your country, let's hope the fear is worse than the actual outcome.

Jesus Christ on a bike, America - You went with ?!!!??!!????

What the fuck were you thinking?

In local news (local to me):

Seems like the entire country's media companies (TV news and newspapers) were at the end of my road today. A tram derailed killing several, injuring many, and trapping two in the tram. Dozens of police, firemen, ambulance crew/paramedics, and transport emergency team on site. I'd say well over a hundred people in total plus police cars, trucks and lorries, ambulances, and fire engines. There were even a couple of helicopters flying overhead at one point (although I'm not sure if they were emergency service or media copters).

When I first saw it I asked one of the police what was going on, as I could not see the tram where I was at that time. He accurately but unhelpfully replied "There has been an incident." I'm guessing that with that kind of "Accurate but useless" answer, he used to work on the help desk of a certain software company.

In the end I walked over to one of the TV news crews and asked them what was going on.

Walking down the road a little later, more than two hours after the incident, police cars were still rushing to the scene with sirens blaring. I noticed one (arriving over two hours after the incident) had painted on it's door "Rapid Response Team"!!!

The protests I believe are stupid and unnecessary.

is nothing more than a con man and it's already starting to show. Numerous reports coming out already. Backing down on building the wall and just increasing patrol and fencing just like Hillary, the other Republican in the race. He is reaching out to lobbyists and is talking to Jamie Dimon from JP Morgan as treasury secretary which was on the short list of Hillary. had called him, during the election, one of the worst bankers in history or something like that. Nothing more than a con job to be elected of which I don't think he ever wanted in the first place. It was all about making money for himself and his businesses.

Now the scary scenario is when certain groups of his supporters figure this all out there is a possibility we could end up with a Pence presidency and that may be even worse the .

Oh I agree, I'm not one of those going around saying "not my president" because he will be the POTUS and I'm an American. I've had many of, lets say discussions, with my Republican family members (I'm a recovering republican/independent) when they would say Obama was not theirs.

Campaign reform and getting money, legalized bribery, out of politics would be a great step in the right direction. It would be nice to have politicians actually argue for things they believe in and not what their donors tell them and that is from both sides.

On a good note I think we may actually find out if there are Aliens in contact with our government as will lose his shit if he meets a "Gray" and will tweet about it because he can't help himself

In Britain there is a legal limit to the amount you can spend on your campaign, so the ground is fairly level funds wise. Also, if you are arguing for something because a donor asked you to do so, you have to declare it. (EG "I feel the house should liberalise the laws concerning the sale of alcohol and also reduce level of taxes on alcohol. I'm proposing this because a beer brewer paid me to say so." Although I doubt they would put it exactly like that!)

ecchi, that is something I would like to see happen here. Money and power have helped shape this country, like all others, and that is okay by me but they got greedy and it needs to be brought back into moderation.

Sadly you do still have to keep an eye on them. For example last election one candidate tried to go over budget by sending out campaign leaflets saying how wrong a particular policy of his opponent was, then claiming this was not election campaigning but an attempt to get his opponent to change his policy. Happily Electoral Commission (the body overseeing campaign finances) did not agree, he got fined, a shed load of bad publicity, and lost his seat in Parliament.

It also allows for pettiness between rivals. For example one candidate paid to fill his campaign bus with gas, and forgot to submit the bill. As he was spending his campaign funds nearly to the limit, the gas would have put him over the limit, but only by two or three dollars. His opponent reported him to the Electoral Commission and also made a big thing about it in his speeches, inferring that he was a dishonest crook because of it.
