Summer concerts?
The qotsa thread got me thinking to ask if anyone has plans to go to any concerts this summer.
I don't do many any more. I saw Pearl Jam twice in 2011, and Judas Priest last year too. This summer Heavy Mtl has a pretty good lineup, but I don't think my body can handle a 2-day metal festival. I'll probably only do day 2 since Mastodon will be playing. Anyone else?

I'm going to Graspop Metal Meeting for the 18th year in a row. The line-up isn't the best I've seen but I'm going anyway.

I'm going to most likely go to Lollapalooza when I'm in Chicago. I want to see NiN again for sure. Then whatever else will fit into things with that when I'm there that day. Sure there will be a ton of other bands to check out. Then I'm trying to decide which Iron Maiden show I want go or if I can make that happen.
Probably catch some more shows at smaller venues though too around here. Some good people should be coming through. |

We have a suite at Staple Center. My work gives them away to employees. Hopefully a few more concerts. Normally during the summer I go to park events. DJ's playing all day, BBQ and fun with the kids |

God it has been years and years since I last went to a summer concert. The last one I went to was an all day event with a hell of a lineup: The Who, Bob Dillon, Eric Clapton, Jools Holland, Atlantis Morrisette, Garry Glitter and a few less famous names. All for only £20 (about $30), even then a bargain (about the same time I went to see a Cliff Richard and just one other act as support, and paid £60).
You can tell how long ago that was, one of the headliners was Garry Glitter, this was before he was outed as a paedophile and became PNG - and that was ages ago. |
