Porn Lords Invade Surfer Convention
Adult Industry Discussion Panels Back on the Road
Over the upcoming Easter holiday weekend, EyeOnAdult.com’s Senior Editor Scott McGowan and industry veterans Mike South (www.mikesouth.com) and Jim “GonZo” McAnally (www.oprano.com) will bring their brand of seminars on the adult entertainment industry to Atlanta, GA for the city’s popular adults-only arts convention, Frolicon. Frolicon, in its second year of operation, bills itself as a science-fiction convention with a twist as the event caters more to those with an interest in erotic arts, BDSM, swinging, and other such subject matter intended strictly for patrons above 21 years of age. Those of all walks of life from all over the Southeastern United States attend the 4-day event to engage in general revelry (hence the name Frolicon), competitions, and educational programming. “Frolicon is a natural fit for what we’re doing here,” said the panels’ creator and moderator, Scott McGowan. “This event is heavily attended by folks who are already dabbling in the adult industry in one form or another. Webcam models, fetish performers, photographers, erotic fiction writers, and consumers of various adult oriented products can all be found at this event. Not all of them do these things as a profession or even as a for-profit side business, but all of these people deserve practical and realistic information about all forms of erotic expression and that’s exactly what we’ll be bringing to the auditorium.” For Mike South, an AVN Award winning director of adult videos and noted industry blogger, these panels serve as an opportunity to set the record straight. “I’m doing this to clear up the misconceptions people have about the business and particularly how to get into it,” South said. On the panels themselves, South will be concentrating on tech suggestions for photographers and webmasters as well as legal and personal concerns for adult workers. Jim McAnally, the prolific webmaster heading up various free and membership adult websites tells us, “These panels will be insightful if you’re at all curious about the adult industry and invaluable if you’re looking to find an angle for profit.” McAnally will speaking on various topics including the basics of adult webmaster techniques and how commerce in the adult marketplace works. Rounding out the panel’s guests will be Scott Jones of Electronic Frontiers Georgia (www.efga.org) who will be discussing non-commerce self-publishing issues along with Mandy Blake and Tony404, the team behind MandysPlayhouse.com. The panels entitled, So, Ya Wanna Make Porn: An Introductory Tutorial and Adult Entertainment and Technology: A Lusty Liaison will take place on Friday, April 6 (Good Friday) and Saturday April 7, 2007 at the Atlanta Hilton Northeast. Pre-registration is currently closed but interested parties may purchase tickets on-site during event hours. Both panels are generously being sponsored by the adult networking website http://www.xpeeps.com. More information can be found at www.frolicon.com or by contacting Scott McGowan through EyeOnAdult.com’s contact page at www.eyeonadult.com/contact. |
