Tgp traffic conversion
OK guys here I go again with another dumb question. If I have a descent gallery and its getting traffic about what percent of that traffic should be going to my sponsor links? The reason I ask is because I have been making galleries and free sites for a little over a month now and just can't seem to make any sales at all. Im noticing that some of my galleries are getting plenty of traffic but barely any sponsor clicks. For example I have a gallery that got listed with the hun and within about 24 hours of it being listed I got around 70k unique visitors from him but only 291 clicks went to the sponsor. Im thinking that just cant be right. So with around 70k hits approximately how many should go to the sponsor?

In my experience that is about right. People are on TGP's, and now tubes for a reason:
IT'S FREE PORN! They are not the people who will convert best in my experience.

If you get 5% click through to the sponsor that is good, usually it's 3% or so. High traffic places like the Hun will be waaaaay less. If overall at month end a 100,000 gallery hits might get you 3000 clicks to sponsor.
Lots of factors come into play. If for example you are promoting a big tit site and the model in your gallery has B cup tits, expect crappy click thrus. If she is hot, thin with EE tits then expect higher click thrus. |

and check how sponsor count the clicks - raw or unique Ist page, second page ?
many sponsor's count only second page hits in stats that the conversion in stats looks better  |

291 sponsor clicks from 70k unique gallery views is only a 0.42% Click Through Ratio (CTR). That's terrible. Like petergg2 mentioned how is the sponsor counting the clicks? Or post the gallery for a critique.
I just checked my last gallery on The Hun. It's shemale but it got 44366 unique views with 2768 clicks through to the sponsor, which is a 6.24% CTR. |

Well I will say I made this gallery a while ago before I knew I was not making good enough text links http://www.dogzinatub.com/galleries/...ose/sampl.html . As of now it has gotten 72957 hits with only 306 first page hits going to the sponsor. I used traffic cash for that gallery and they count first page, second page, join page and trailer views.
Since i made that gallery I have made more with better text links but they are not listed anywhere yet to see if they do any better. Well for the first one it's very easy to take the whole gallery in with one glance and overlook the top and bottom ads. I would make bigger, clearer thumbs without the url text and have more sales text. Surf the TGPs and look at all the different designs and ways to sell. Second one is slightly better in terms of ad placements in the actual gallery. |

Is there any advantage of using video galleries over picture galleries? Ive never made a video gallery and was thinking about giving it a try. Also that second gallery is part of a free site I made. I personally haven't seen any advantage, but I don't have any partner accounts to any big video-only MGPs. Last month 16 of my top 20 galleries were pic galleries, and they take a lot less bandwidth.
I do the same, only I make the TGP galleries first, then I take two like-themed galleries to make a free site. On yours, the Exit link goes to your root domain and not Google. Who clicks on an Exit link anyway? I usually have a 'No thanks' link to go a related site or preferably one of my hubs/blogs. The main page is pretty skimpy. And I think 'old time' 468x80 banners are probably the worst in terms of CTR. Surf around and get some great ideas. I'll PM you one of mine. |

Your middle link does not go to the sponsor.
I also think you should crop your thumbs using photo shop or something rather than resize the big pictures. With cropped thumbs you can make the surfer click your large images to check out what the thumb is all about. Once he starts clicking he is more likely to click the link to the sponsor too IMO. |

I was also going to ask what you use to make the thumbs. Try making them all the same size and orientation, and crop out the text.

Hey thanks for catching that for me. I thought I checked all the links but dreamweaver was acting a little strange when I was making that page. You have mentioned the cropping images thing to me before on a different post but im still not sure what you mean. Do you have a sample gallery I can look at to see what you are talking about?

Guys I got another problem. For some reason the guys at adultlist.com are accusing me of being a cheater. They are saying that I am this guy that submits 25 free sites a day and its not me. I don't even have 25 free created. If I did I would have applied for a green guy partner account by now. Its crazy because on Wednesday when i emailed him and asked him why does he always decline my free site submission and thats when he told me about the 25 free sites a day thing. Well after a few emails I finally convinced the guy that it wasnt me and he approved my site. Now remember that was Wednesday. Well Thursday I was thinking everything is fine now so i submitted my 1 free site for the day and he rejected it again. So i emailed him once again friday about it and his response in a email was "I approved your listing yesterday and now I see you submitted another one. Who are you kidding...". Obviously he has some type of memory problem because he approved my listing for Wednesday and he rejected my listing for Thursday. So is it worth it for me to keep trying to submit to that site if their gonna keep accusing me of being a cheater? Does that site give that much traffic that I should have to almost beg someone to get listed?

It's not like they have a ton of traffic. Best advice is to remove them from your submit list and move on.

I agree with what HowlingWulf stated but I would also find out for sure why this person thinks you are submitting that much. It could be something that may get you in trouble at better sites.

OK guys I made another gallery and this time i cropped the photos like you suggested. Its actually very easy to crop them using paint in windows. Let me know what you think.

Major, Im going to suggest something else that wasn't mentioned above. Your thumbs all show pretty much the same image over and over. There are no real transitional images.
No variety = Boring to a surfer and wont get any clicks. Your galleries all have the pics that are far too similar, take for instance the last gallery that you posted it has a lot of basically the same pics.... pics #1, 2 & 8 pics #9,10 &11 pics #13,14 &15 Not much to stimulate the viewer to want to see more IMHO. If you cant find content with variety maybe try another sponsor that does.

The best one so far, but yeah the crop is a little off. Are you doing these one by one by hand? There are free thumbnail programs that will do it with a click of a button. I use Arles but it costs a few bucks.

OK guys been away for a few days mainly because I couldn't work much because of I had to switch hosts (never want to go through that again. I would rather have Sarah Palin shoot me in the foot than switch hosts). But anyway I would like you guys to tell me if I am getting any better with this gallery. Looks really good. Check the grammar on the middle sales text and consider only linking the action sentence not the entire paragraph and make it stand out more. The blue on pinkish color isn't so good. I would also add another sales text between the header and first thumb row.
