Unhappy No wonder sales suck. Two of my own cards declined in two days.

I have really great credit and don't owe anything on any of my cards so you would think that I wouldn't have trouble buying stuff.

I normally use my BoA debit card to pay for everything but the day before yesterday I went to the Apple store to pickup Christy's iPhone so tried to use my BoA Visa credit card since she was paying for it only to have it declined twice. Finally had to use my Visa debit card to pickup her iPhone.

Then this morning I tried to buy a $13 laptop screw driver set from Amazon using my PayPal Mastercard (trying to use up some of the money just sitting in my PayPal account) and it was declined twice so ended up using my BoA Visa debit card again.

Makes me wonder how many sales we are losing due to surfers getting frustrated trying to buy memberships.

Did you call BoA and PayPal to find out why they declined your charges? Some thing simple may have tripped an alert. Or maybe because you are such a good customer they decided to screw with you I process credit cards all day every day and the only trouble I had was with gift cards (not properly activated) and those weird Citi cards that change security codes several times a year.

I see a lot of denied cc's on rebills so gotta figure there is a ton of them out there on the initial purchase as well.

More then likely you have a great credit score whereas the majority of the US population have medium scores. The recession/depression created a credit mess which is probably more to blame for lack of sales then lost homes/jobs or even torrents/tubes.

I haven't and probably won't as I really don't care and it is too much of a hassle to go through the hassle.

A couple of weeks ago new government regulated banking industry changes went into affect. A buddy of mine who manages a bar told me the other day that his credit card declines have more than tripled since the changes

ouch Cleo!
yea, looking into it may be a good idea, you never know when someone snagged your info and is posing as you..and may have totaly fubared up your credit...

and yea, charges have been getting tougher to make evver since the banks tightened up on credit/lending, they canceled/tightened up alot of peoples credit without any real cause, and in your case, maybe without notice...

I purchased a membership to a site a year ago to check things out inside before promoting it. I had to finally call epoch to create my account. So I think there is a lot of the buying public that has more than plenty of room on their cards being denied. It's that sobering moment if they aren't REALLY wanting a membership that might make them think twice about the purchase.
