US mobile traffic works the best and converts about 1 in 80 for us at the moment. I know there a lot of sites out there that will do link exchanges, and maybe a few in this thread by the looks of it. I have certainly seen a few of these sites on my travels around the boards. Good luck.

The potential of the mobile internet is immense and it has never been easier to generate revenue. And we’re only just at the beginning of this era; the market will explode in the years to come.

There are certainly many people who ignore the mobile internet or even call it nonsense. But wasn’t it similar with the internet a few years ago? Didn’t the offline industry snigger at the online business? And what is it like today? The offliners now have proper respect for the online business, don’t they? And not just that. They are also suffering from fear of losing their livelihood.

The mobile internet certainly won’t replace the fixed internet. But we want to tell those who are laughing about the mobile internet, that they are very, very mistaken!

When comparing the mobile internet to the fixed internet, the mobile internet is approximately where the fixed internet was in the year 1998. But we should bear in mind that the development of the mobile internet will progress much faster than in those early days.

According to a study by Juniper Research, erotic content on the mobile internet will generate US$ 4.9 billion in the year 2013. In the next five years they are expecting an overall turnover of US$ 14.5 billion. With a share of 39%, Europe will play the biggest role. And this is only referring to the adult sector.

Why is this the case? First of all, it’s worth mentioning that the adult industry has already helped other sectors to grow substantially. For example print, TV, DVD, VOD, internet, just to mention a few. But the mobile internet has got many more advantages:

1. It is global – exactly like the internet! With one significant difference – there are already more mobile phone than PCs in the world. The explanation is simple: There are countries that don’t have a well-established broadband infrastructure like Western Europe or North America. These countries (for example South Africa or India) are using the mobile internet and are skipping the PC.

2. Differences in income also play a role. Especially in newly industrialized countries people don’t have the money to buy computer hardware. Those who follow the media will have heard about the 100$ Notebook.

3. The mobile phone has become an everyday device. Besides your keys and wallet the majority of people carry their phone around with them daily. No matter where they are, the mobile phone is everyone’s constant companion. It can be noted that most erotic content downloads are being made late in the evening and in the morning between 06:00 – 09:00 am - on the way to work.

4. Nothing is more private than your mobile phone. You don’t have to share it with anyone. No-one has to be afraid that a member of their family would detect what’s happening on it.

5. It has never been easier to pay for content. The user is able to pay for it with just one click. They don’t have to insert any information or go through a complicated registration process or divulge private details. One simple click is enough and the customer can enjoy premium content.

6. In addition, users’attitude is different on mobile than on PC. Everything you find on the fixed internet is available for free elsewhere. You just have to search for it. We can even call it a “free-of-charge mentality”. Mobile network providers, however, have cleverly managed to create a different expectation: Everything that the user does on mobile costs money – making calls, sending SMS, checking ones mailbox, surfing the mobile internet. Therefore, a user’s reluctance to pay for content is much lower.

I hope that I have illustrated to you the massive revenue potential of the mobile internet. Again, the mobile internet will never replace the fixed internet, but it’ll complement it in an ideal way.

Some studies are saying that an average of 5% of the whole internet traffic is coming from mobile phones.

So I'd start to analyze my webtraffic and see how many mobile users are coming to my sites. What kind of products do you offer these users yet or is this traffic lost?

Do you know that you can add some PHP code to your site which detects mobile phone users and redirect them to an alternative site with converting mobile products?

A there's the crux of the issue. Of that 5%, how many are surfing porn? And of those surfing porn how many are going to buy porn based on their mobile viewing?

I've yet to see any unbiased data that shows people are buying porn via mobile.

Making member area content available in mobile formats is an entirely separate issue, but from the affiliate side of the equation, I still don't see that there's enough of a market to spend too much time and resources targetting mobile surfers.

I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time, but I've been hearing about mobile being the next big thing in porn for several years now, and it's just not happening.

Reviewing my stats, I've been receiving more traffic than I expected from mobile sources. My site is certainly not optimized for mobile browsers, so it must be mostly iPhone users because of the excellent scalability of that browser. I've also noticed more than expected international traffic. I know Europeans use their mobiles more than Americans, so that might be the source of this traffic. If I were in a position to create a new site, I'd probably niche in the mobile market, especially considering the countries where a lot of this content is blocked by national filters (China, etc.).

New study shows iPhone users to be in a class by themselves.

iPhone users are richer, younger, and perhaps even more productive at work than those who use competing smartphones, according to a new study released Friday.

The study ($750 fee) from independent market analysis company Forrester Research suggests iPhone users comprise the elite upper class of smartphone customers. The data was compiled from 32,228 working U.S. adults in 2008. It found that those who own an iPhone are typically more active on their phones and more connected to the internet than those who fell into generic “smartphone” or “mobile phone” categories.”

The study, compiled by Ted Schadler, found that iPhone users are “more than twice as likely to access the Internet from their phone as working BlackBerry, Palm, or Windows Mobile device owners.” The research was inspired by anecdotal comments from companies such as Kraft Foods and Oracle that implied employees have a personal drive to use an iPhone at work, even when one is not provided by the employer.

The research suggests that an employee with an iPhone could be more productive: Those who carry Apple’s handheld device are more likely to stay connected to their employer’s network. Workers with an iPhone also usually leave their laptop at work, suggesting the phone essentially replaces the need for a traditional full-form mobile computer.

When comparing customer Internet usage, the study shows that the iPhone blows away its competitors. 78 percent of iPhone users reported they access the Internet at least weekly on their phone, while only 38 percent of the rest of the smartphone market were on the mobile Web that often...

Toby, you are right it is early, but now is the time to start and be ready for the G3 phones, the New SideKick, Iphones, G1 and Blackberry.

This is true, and without getting into figures because it's way too early, I can say that our original mobile phone site, www.score2go.com has recently had a 50% increase in sale without any new increase in traffic.
