I just found it amusing that I have a book (of the most seminal works of fiction of the last century) on my bookshelf with a reasonable facsimile of Greenies Logo on it. If I had an established logo like greenguy, I think I'd collect everything with a similar logo as a hobby. Maybe its old news, but I claim ignorance of knowledge I dont posses.

LOL find out just when Douglas Adams published his "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" what is the original copyright date?

My compilation was first published in 1986 (although the book HHGG was published earlier), my edition is from 1987. I just thought Greenie might want to see the logo on one of the coolest books ever written. If a logo similar to mine was on a book by Douglas Adams, I'd be tickled pink.

Honestly, I don't understand what you are getting at.

Was the internet around in 1986? Was Greenie's domain registered then? Which logo do you think came first? And which is a tribute?

It started off as a radio serial in the late 1970's (1977 I think, but I am not certain). It got adapted into a TV series in the very early 1980s (1981 I think, but again not 100% certain), and was novelised after that.

However the important dates are when that logo was first used. I have been following it since near the start but have not seen the Greenguy logo on it before that picture was posted.

I think the point someone is making is that if GG was using the logo first, then the estate of Douglas Adams owes him a lot in royalties, but if it appeared on the book first then GG owes them a lot of money

I wasnt thinking in those terms. GG has been around since the late nineties that I know of (because I posted free sites to him back then) using the same trademark/logo. If there were any issues regarding the use of the image I'm sure they would be worked out by now.

Greenie, if this caused you any grief or if its a sore matter, my humblest apologies. That was the opposite of what I intended.
