where to report CP???
where all do you report CP (chi*d po*n) is the asacp the only viable place to report this kind of stuff? does the justice department have a site to report to them directly? i just got a really disturbing e-mail thru aol and the only place i can find to report it is the asacp... the doj website shot me off to some other site where i have to give my whole life history just to report it... what a joke especially with all the BS going on right now with them claiming to come down on us to help protect children... where else can I report it? the asacp doesn't even let you report an e-mail addy

When I was working for the DOD we had a guy who had CP on his box. Well the state police and the FBI and the DOD CID all came to the location. It was a crazy thing cause by law we had to protect the guy's privacy to the computer. I mean we got around it really fast with making things easy for the other departments to get warrents etc. Long story short I would try to pin point down as much as you can from the mail (ip, header info etc) if you contact AOL you are going to be shit out of luck. They dont know anything about IT. Yes even there upper level server managers etc. But If you can get an IP and trace it back to which node it came from for AOL. Go to the FBI's site, and that states "state police" look for the IT departments and forward them everything you have. They have the resources to combat this. Or at least they will help the asacp in getting more detail for AOL. Aol is required by law to not allow them to get any customers info unless they are very very specific in there requests. They have to right the COR (Custodian of Records) with the request. It has to be notorized and can only be sent directly to that person. It can not be send to say Attn: record keeping department. It has to go to Attn; Joe Blow (head of COR). Once he touches it then the government can move on this issue. Its allot harder then most people think to stop this. The government, like i stated before has so many laws protecting people that even when there is a huge amount of proof they still can just fuck it up by not taking 1 proper step. I know. I was in the system and it sucked. Jugg..

Yup. First day I dropped my server live. I set up a hony pot in hopes that any hacker would go their first before trying to screw with my site. Well sure enough about 5 hours into the server going live. There was a little shit head sitting there just waiting for a girl to come online in order to steal a free show. I sat an watched him for about 30 minutes, got as much info as I could trying to trace threw his proxies. Well 99% of them were AOL boxes and I just this would be a nightmare. Stupid moron came into the chat and started talking to many things that were close to me and where I post in another forum. Well long story short I found out who it was. I contacted AOL's security dept and the person who answerd had no idea what I was talking about. I tried to get in contact with their NOC, (Network Ops Center) LOL that was just a nightmare. Finnaly got them and was told I had to submit to abuse@aol.com. Which I did. In fact I sent them like 3 mails all traceing down to the shithead. I was supposed to get a response back. Well never did. Had to deal with this on my own. Just fucking restarded. When it comes to the net were all mostly on our own. Totaly sucks.

Kinky I got spammed with some crap the other night too. Reported it to asacp as well. But of course the site is still up. Maybe it`s new bait for a sting? Still the whole thing sucks!

It's sad but when I come across CP, I am always nervous about reporting them. Oh, I turn them in but I also make a log about where I find it and how I found it.

NO! Im not a female - but being a dragon, I do eat them.

Definitely reporting it through the asacp will work the best - they have a team from DOJ, FBI and Interpol that work with them to track this stuff down when you report it - works very well in the long run as they do tend to have a heck of a lot more effectiveness than any other groups or agencies alone

And that`s about all we can do and just let them take thir course with investigating it. But even more disturbing when you have little ones at home. I don`t even want to have to go see if they managed to take the one I saw down yet.

Robbo - (selling point coming) you can always become a sponsor of the asacp as it helps them function and I know the personal reward to me far outweighs my little contribution I make for sponsorship - I know that in addition to the sites I report from submits etc, the money has helped them grow along the way.

I also happened to get one of the emails today and the url is owned by the following - although it may be fake as the IP location is in China
The host is NSA1.SPX2K.NET ICANN Registrar: YESNIC CO. LTD. and the registrant is: Domain Name : wamurl.com ::Registrant:: Name : Constance Edwards Email : Address : 1094 SE St Patricks Court, Port Orchard, WA Zipcode : 98367 Nation : US Tel : +1.302-338-7956 Fax : +1.302-338-7956 I believe that a subdomain was being used which Im not going to print here but it definitely has no business being on the net |

I see the site I reported is down as of last night when I checked. I was beginning to wonder how long it would take them. 3 days is probably not bad if the info on the sever being in China was correct.

I found one in 1999 and it's still up and running today. It's been reported over and over. The whois is in the Netherlands so I have no idea if that's just too far to handle. Unfreaking believeable.

In the early days of the internet, usenet was abundant with this shit as you all know. I cant believe in this day and age, sites like this still remain open. I wouldnt know where to find them, nor do I want to know

Ahhh ... sweet pity. Where would my love life be without it?

I've received a few cp site emails in the past month or so, and have never received them before. Is this stuff on the rise now for some reason?
