Wednesday - December 6th - Happy 100th Finland!
Yeah, we are celebrating here. 100 years ago today, Finland became an independent nation. It's been a tough go at times, but I am so happy to be living here. We have to go grocery shopping today before the stores close, and then this evening we settle down to watch the Linnanjuhlat - Castle Celebration - where the President and his now-pregnant First Lady will welcome 1900 guests to the Presidential Palace for huge party. The real focus is on the veterans of the Winter War and Continuation War back in the late 30s and early 40s. One of those guys is 99 and from my husband's home town. His family knows him but he doesn't. It's a huge honor to be invited to attend. Lots going on!!

Morning!
Broker Open House yesterday was well attended Got some good feedback (painting some rooms), some unreasonable feedback (I'm not resurfacing all the original wood flooring in the upstairs, nor will I be updating the exterior from vinyl siding to something more "appealing"), and some suggestions on the price ("...list pricing came in between $440K-$450K + sale pricing came in between $425-$430K.) Anything under $450k really fucks us, so The Bitch & I have some serious thinking to do... I got very little done work wise yesterday, so maybe that's why I'm up so damn early today There's a snow storm coming tonight that they say will drop 1-2.5 feet of snow on us so I have to get the snow blower up & running, as well as run to the grocery store for my mom. Tally ho! (Sorry folks, I'm in love with this one)
Well, life is somewhat good. After some good days of steady winter, rain is falling. Only problem with this, for me, is a dog wet and dirty after a walk. Well, slowly getting into the groove of business. But, I managed to do the 'Error' of promising a short concert at a x-mas dinner at my alternate 'workplace'. So now my days are filled with endless practice of three x-mas carols on guitar. Arranged them myself and they sound somewhat good. Heck, I even enjoy the process. Maybe my anti-depressive meds have finally kicked in? (My therapist suggested so today) Well, enough of me. How are you guys? Quote:

Tomorrow the wife starts phase 2 of chemo with new drugs so not sure how this is going to be. Hope for the best and take it one day at a time. On a good note the flip house closed and money is in the bank It's way too late to enjoy Wednesday so hope your Thursday is a good one! Last edited by JustRobert; 2017-12-06 at 10:19 PM.. |
