SiteValley?

Anyone know anything about sitevalley.com. They host my sites and i can't get to my sites or sitevalley. I just noticed they were down tonight. I can't email them or call them because all that info was on their site. Any advice of what to do? Should I start looking for a new host.

Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all

I'm hosted there, too. I've had brief downtimes before, but never this long. If I end up having the 150+ free sites listed on LL's dumped from the lists because of this, I'm definately going to think about changing hosts.

Pretty frustrating. Im shopping for other hosts now but I really dont want to change. It's such a hassle. Plus having to resubmit all my free sites and tgp galleries would be a major pain. And Im worried about losing my pr4 on my fake tgp.

how long have they been down? seems like every host has downtime now and then but if it is prolonged or becomes a habitual thing then a new host might be a good idea... i've never used the host in question so i can't give any concrete recommendations

yeah frustrating is the nicest way of putting it start sending e-mails to them to let them know... chances are they already know but it won't hurt anything and it will hopefully remind them to get in gear... hope ya'll get your sites back up quickly

Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless

Changing hosts should not effect your page rank nor make you have to resubmit.

Your host being down for a prolonged period could cause you to get dropped.

You might try whois'ing them and getting their number or you could try the wayback machine at http://www.archive.org/web/web.php to see if they have an archive of their site and get a number that way. I did try this and pages come up for them. Try the most recent pages first and work your way backwards to see if there is a number for them.

I just talked to Sergey, and he said they should be up again soon.
They are moving the servers at this moment, as he said.
I asked if it would be for today and he said:

yes, for sure

Im also keeping my fingers crossed for a quick recovery. I guess what frustrates me is that there was no way to know what was going on. No email, no way to check the status or updates on their website.

But as far as having to resubmit, don't a lot of the link site webmasters go thru the sites the link to and delete the ones that are 404'ed or missing?

Yes, they do. Just cross your fingers that their bots aren't running while your sites are down. You could also post your domains in the Link Lists and Getting Listed section as a warning to the link list owners. Begging for mercy is always good in these situations.
