Well you know boys, a nuclear reactor is a lot like women. You just have to read the manual and press the right button

Funny thing with what Jim said, they seem to load prices on Eco friendly things, BIO fuel is more expensive to buy but cheaper to refine. You can run a diesel car on cooking fat yet over here they tax it. I think most of this so called "Green living" is just a way to tax us more. |

I know it's much more harmful and if that was the reason for the higher price, I wouldn't care. But, there is no extra tax on diesel..it's just more expensive now. The strangest part, sometimes it's not more expensive than gas.

That might be because it's more economical than petrol, a kind of "you pay more because you use less" type thing.

$3.19 but if I buy $50 worth of groceries (not tobacco, gift cards, or alcohol) I'll get $0.15 off each gallon...without the $0.15 off, the normal discount is $0.03 for safeway club members...it's not worth it to buy the groceries at safeway...much better to go to the super walmart where a 32 oz bottle of hienz ketchup is $.187 versus $3.50 at safeway....there are more and more scams coming up to get us to buy their over priced gas such as the free car wash, free soda, free hotdays...etc...now it's buy groceries and get a discount...funny...

My car takes 93 octane so I have to pay a bit more. After getting a tank of bad gas on New Year's eve I've been filling with Chevron with Techton to clean the fuel system which also seems to cost a bit more. The other night I was in South Beach where gas also seems to cost a bit more. Paid just under $4 per gallon that night but normally I pay around $3.50 per gallon at the Citgo up the street from me.
BTW Chevron with Techton really does work. My car is running great after a few tanks and my car's fuel gage is also working properly now. |

NO! Im not a female - but being a dragon, I do eat them.
|
Being in central Calif right now is quite a shock - just under $4 a gal for 91 octane - cant even find 93 octane anywhere(I dont think its allowed in Calif) and my jeep really doesnt like this cheap shit. For the truck the diesel is all the new stuff that is only being sold in Cal now and really sucks

Live and learn. And take very careful notes!
|
Btw in holland we also get a nice bill every 3 months because we have a car and use the roads, so we pay tax for the gasoline and we pay tax because we drive a car, now for a diesel car and a car driving on gas you pay much more extra tax a 3 months then a gasoline car ( hmmm i wonder if i say it right) if i have to translate the 3 months tax it should be named "roadtax" oh and this year we get the "slurptax" as a extra tax, thats for the cars who are bad for the enviroment because they use to much gasoline.
As far as i know most countries have the tax already counted in the price of the gasoline, we dont have that here |

We pay a road tax annually, varies on the size of the engine but for a 2L like mine it's £99 for 6 months and £180 for a year.
Then add the £50 for an MOT plus insurance (Mine being £340 a year fully comp) plus maintenance, It isn't cheap to own a car. |
