I'm certainly not a voice of experience here, but from a surfer point of view I think sign-ups will continue to slow down for two fundamental reasons:

1) There's too much free content.

2) Some of the paysites really suck, and people are tired of having their pockets picked.

Does it work to refuse to list galleries containing excessively graphic content? In other words, show some skin but leave something to the imagination.

Concerning paysites, doesn't it make sense to investigate what you're promoting? If, for example, the site in question has a great tour but the content inside fails to live up to the hype, isn't it better to not promote such sites and avoid the negative reputation received for marketing low quality goods?

I know a fair percentage of sites live off bookmark traffic, so isn't it more rational to market sites that maintain a high level of quality, thus ensuring your recommendations to the surfer will be gold, and not thought of as just more hype, or worse yet -- outright lies?

Just some pre-Thanksgiving ramblings.

my signups are better than ever - one thing you are right about is the paysites having lame members areas - the way nastydolars gives you like 10 sites for the price of one is a good way to go. that way they get alot for the money

Yeah we have been doing that for over 4 years now, buy one membership and get a pass to X ammount of sites at no charge. Not to mention we update with at least 3 exclusive content updates every day, members love that shit :0)

Extreme is having a record sales day today, excellent sales, and on Turkey Day, woooo hoooo!!!

Gotta be deversified and not just sell the huge hardcore sites, you need to be traffic specific and be creative dont just have 1 angle of the box taken care of, a box needs all of it's sides to be strong.

Have a great turkey day and I hope some of you are having some excellent sales accross the board and ofcourse with us.

damn, john you were my only sale today actually friday i guess but tonite for V.C. 1:7 heheh my day sucked other than extreme. well, i didnt know u did the buy 1 get em all thing now i should do even better (we can put that is sales text right?) i didnt know u did that i do great for V.C. but get a lot of hits for public thongs and some others so i will update the text links and hopefully do even better! |rasta| i think all sponsors should go that way especially small ones with little content. would help people like me who are working real niche stuff and more "educated" porn consumers who know how to get tons of shit free. i think a lot of the more advanced consumers who know how to work yahoo groups and other places might shell out $20-50 if they knew they could get more live chat, 10 + sites etc. hope this becomes a bigger trend. hope you all had a good turkey day lol i just worked, most of the extended family is dead lol so we dont do it like we used to will go home for x-mas.

Sales have picked up for me this week, but are still weak.

Sponsors that I normally do very well with are just not converting lately.
So far this month
1st Page 2nd Page Ratio
8,127 2,777 1:1388
This is not a sponsor that advertises on this board.

Yet other sponsors that I don't normally push are converting.

Looks like it is time to start pushing different sponsors.

1:100 is unrealistic. I have sponsors that do that some days or better and some sponsors that do 1:200 over an entire month but when sending 100 hits to a sponsor daily you might not see a sale for weeks.

Keep building! It sounds redundant but until you can start sending at least 1000 hits daily or more to a sponsor then you will not see consistent sales.

Spend less time on the boards wondering about sales and keep building!

I agree with ya! There is WAY too much free porn out there and I'm not just talking the free sites and TGPs. A surfer, if they have some sort of searching abilities, can find all the porn they could ever want and not pay a cent.

Now, on the paying side... I have done many porn site reviews and I have to say a vast majority of them shouldn't call themselves paysites. From lack of content to crappy members' areas... it is no wonder people don't trust the Adult Industry as a whole. There are webmasters out there who are slapping 100 pictures or so together and calling it a paysite, charging 39.95 a month. It is truley sad.

If I promote something, I make damned sure it would be something I wouldn't mind paying for.

Just my day after Turkey day, I'm full on leftovers, ramblings

I would SAy to much free stuff

I to was a porn surfer but never hit the jack pot of free porn till i started doing web sites and found the best free porn link lists and tpgs and movies clips are getting popular and most people are not going to sign up when they can watch 15 free clips even though they are short..

and the traffic thieves are going to keep making the video clips longer and longer till nobody signs up then we will think why ?

tgps should all have 10 pics max not 15 next they will want 20
because the more free shit the tpgs and link lists give out the more traffic they will get and the small % of sign ups will be had by the owners of the tpgs and link lists because you and I know that there shit comes first and that is why I am starting a link list

My 2 cents

Hey all. Just thought I'd offer my experience with this question--though it's only about 11 months worth of experience : )
I spent plenty of time looking for a sponsor with something unique--that didn't look like all the others within a niche. I still promote and make some money from some of the biggies, but my most consistent converter is a smaller site with exclusive content and an obvious attention to detail that, if rebills are any indication, keeps members very happy. I don't have huge traffic numbers, but this site and a couple of others keep that CCBill check coming just about every week. And I still take time to look around for new sponsors that seem to understand what makes a site stand out and keep people interested. Of course, I still haven't been able to quit the day job : )

Oh yeah, one other big thing about this sponsor--he let's me make my own banners. I've found that to be extremely beneficial. Not too many seem to be keen on letting us do our own promo design for their sites (understandably wanting to have some quality control), but, if you're allowed and have some graphic design ability, it really can make a difference.
Incidentally, the sponsor I mention isn't taking new affiliates now--I promise I'm not just being greedy by not sharing my little golden (well, high quality brass) egg.

We have a lot of free content plateman, in fact we just put up lot more this last week, and our sites are going way beyond our expectations on conversions. We already knew a couple of them did well because they were personal paysites of ours and have been doing consistantly well over the years.

If you're not signed up with digibucks yet here's a link for you http://www.digibucks.com go and sign up, things are really rockin for us

This is putting it lightly and 100% correct. The fact is the harder and more Boundryless people think, the better their results, ofcourse all of this takes some time and some skill, which only makes sence, Barry Bonds is the All Time Homerun Champion because he got lucky once or twice swinging the bat, he did all of the things he needed to do to increase his ability. Create your own tours, see if you can get additionl info from the sponbsor or even a pass into the affiliate area, if your traffic is up and you have a good gameplan see if the sponsor will allow you to download and tag your own images or movies for galleries (this generates EXCELLENT results), create your own banners, link to join pages, spend time marketing your galleries and sites properly. I think more so today than in the past because of the huge influx of Hosted Sites & Hosted Galleries, someone that spends the time doing the above has a huge advantage and sales potential, because everyone is using the promo tools that make life easier, EVERYONE which means harder conversion numbers and less sales accross the board. We have affiliates that use Hosted Galleries & Hosted Sites, they send 3x the traffic and generate 1/3 of the money that an affiliate that creates their own tours, galleries, sites etc. Working hard will make a differance, but may not be overnight.

I've found that you have good and bad cycles all the time and I've never been able to pin point it to anything in particulare LOL

We have 14 sites for the price of one and of the 14 I've found that the my exclusive ones do the best. On two of my exclusives we shoot requests for the members and they love it. They do more promotion for these sites to their friends and chat boards than we do

The strange thing is that I have one site which has half exclusive and this one does extremely well compared to the exclusive ones. It is a uniform and costume niche.
