watch referrers for fusker
I suppose this is the proper forum for this observation, since these guys sure as hell are cheating me out of banner views with their "service".
I'm pretty slack about checking my referrers so I just noticed this last night; if it's old news, pardon my noise. I followed up a referrer called fusker.lewww.com just to see who was sending so many hits; turns out these clowns have a way for folks to enter a URL and they will then present this leech with all the content from that page, sans the page or anything else, including the banners. I emailed them a piece of my mind whether they know what to do with it or not   , and then I banned their IP from ever seeing anything on that domain again.Again, sorry if I'm clogging things with old news, but I felt this deserved some airing among those with similar aims of trying to make a living. And too, I promised them I would tell all my adult webmaster friends, and I hate not making good on a threat.  Carmilla |
