Is this a blog scraper site?

I have comments turned off in the blog software (WP) but I got a comment today, which is strange, so I assume its a pingback of some sort, from this site:

http://free-porn-world.info/wives-carolyn-reese-and-richelle-ryan-are-wife-switched

And it contains text from my post here:

http://www.thesexyhousewife.com/blog/2008/02/22/wives-carolyn-reese-and-richelle-ryan-are-wife-switched/

But it doesn't look like it took it from my RSS. It has more of the post than my RSS spits out. Any ideas what this is? What I should do about it? It looks like a scraper site to me. It looks as if it pulls from a lot of other sites too.

It does link back to my original post but I don't understand what it's trying to accomplish if its not just another scraper. Do you guys have this happen often?

yeah, I've been getting hit up by him too. It really pisses me off because he takes my handwritten feeds from several blogs. I've tried to figure out who his host or his email address to send a C&D. I've tried several things - plugins that are suppose to add a copyright link, etc - but his script seems to have no issues with them. If anyone has some ideas I would love to hear it.

Sounds like a trackback attempt from a scraper site.

You could turn off trackbacks. Can you do that in WP?

If it's a comment, you should have Akisment, catches all my crap so far. Could go one step further, I use a math comment spam protection. Nothing since I put it in.

Or you could let it go and look at it as a one way link back.

The trackbacks I delete, but I hate having them steal my handwritten content.

I read about the very same domain on another AWM board. It seems like this one managed to go past most obstacles. Almost like he copies and pastes by hand? He doesn't respond to and C&D either. Thing is, if he is grabbing your RSS, not sure there's much to be done about it, other than switch off RSS for handwritten blogs? Legally speaking, I'm not sure it's illegal to grab and repost an RSS feed for which you openly provide a link on your site.

He may not respond to a C&D but his host should. Because yes just because it is there doesn't mean it's legal for him to use it. Especially sine some people may have added a copyright added to the end of the posts and the copyright is taken off.

Well, I'll be real happy for the webmasters in question if this works. Let us know.

I guess you could look at providing the rss just for surfers to subscribe.

Actually now that I check, he took one of my posts as well, was a trackback as well. But now that I check it's not there any more, so seems something happened. Either he got in trouble or is trying to stay out of trouble.

This happens to me on my handwritten blogs also. It pisses me off but most of the time the scrapers leave my affiliate codes in, so it doesn't piss me off enough to do anything about it yet. Plus most of those scraper sites are shit anyways and are bound to fold before too long.

Try this experiment - do a google search for a line of your unique handwritten text, and see where else your text appears besides your own blog. You may be surprised.

I'm not sure if I want to try that experiment. It might make me even more depressed

I've gotten two more track backs from two others. Obviously spam sites. They always grab the latest post. But when they realize you don't link back to them they never grab another.
