Whattya all know about plugrush?
So, there's an adult ppc company called plugrush.
http://www.plugrush.com/?ref=14981 What do you folks know about it? You create widgets that show ads - I gather the tubes use it a lot, and the people making tumblrs. |

Looks very interesting.
The woman's voice on their video reminds me of the voice from the talking ads in the nineties of I've got a website that's so... |

lol, yeah, I dont usually put up a ref code, but, i figure, wtf. beggars can't be chosers. I made the ref very obvious, so, it's not like it's a trick.
I was following threads and links here and there and came across this, first I had heard of it. upon reading further I gather they banned tumblr, or tumblr banned them, or something. I wanted to know if people had heard bad things about them. |

The only way to look at the mechanics of any affiliate program is to sign up. chill, greeny has the right to tease me, having known me for many many years, you don't. You don't understand the underlying dynamics and history in this situation. |

Basically what happened is you started a thread by asking about a program and posting a link with a refcode in it right off. That looked like a spam thread to me (and incidentally, still does). I posted a snide comment in reply. You have the right to defend yourself if you feel I got it wrong. But don't get so fucking high faulting about it. The question is "was it spam or not" and "do I have the right to be snide about it"? It is not some major "situation", there is no "history" or "dynamics" to it, it is just a thread started with a refcode. Don't start trying to make yourself into Martin Luther King over it! |

I like ecchi' style.
Webmasters get so hung up on seeing a link. "What is spam?" can be a good debate, but it's more interesting to see reactions when you just type what's on your mind.

A debate about "What is spam?" is pointless. What the masses think isn't relevant. The board owner defines what he feels is spam and his appointed moderators follow his lead.
You can debate for the sake of debate if you wish, but I have far more productive things to tend to. Speaking of... where the fuck is my morning coffee? |

Knowing Bill for many years I didn't see Bill's post as spam at all.
He signed up for program, asked about it and provided a link to it. Like Toby I need my morning coffee. Until then I'm going to be bitchy. |

I've looked at PlugRush several times but so far I haven't done more than sign up so I could have my very own spam link http://www.plugrush.com/?ref=14994
I haven't put them on any of my sites so far mostly because I don't really build sites where I want to provide space for plugs promoting and directing traffic to other sites. At least not unless I make a lot more than a few cents. It's the same reason I don't have Juicy Ads or other similar ad networks on my sites. (I should mention that I've used Juicy Ads as an advertiser but not as a publisher.) I only make space for prepaid advertising spots from individual advertisers who are willing to pay a fixed price for monthly or longer ad space. The individual advertisers part is important to me. Because just like with using RON (run of network) when advertising, the thing I don't like about PlugRush is that it seems you have to create ad zones and let ads (plugs) start running with no advance control over what appears on your site. Then you can block ads/plugs from sites you don't like *after* you see them on your site. At some point I may try building sites designed for this kind of business model. But it's not something I'm doing right now. I do see that a lot of people use PlugRush, so for the right kind of sites I'm sure it's a good option. .

I use plugrush on most of my sites to bring in an extra ~$300/mo income from people clicking on them. A little extra doesn't hurt.

so, nobody has had any paricular problems with accounts getting canceled, payments not made, payments disputed, or other problems of that kind? The typical problems one has with ppc sponsors.
so far the big objection seems to be that they are uncontrolled links - and blind links. how does the mobile traffic thing work? does it autodetect mobile for the whole page, or just the clicks? |

I was reading a thread at another board earlier where someone simply asked a question..... Which used to be the point of the boards. Imho. Anyway... It was already two pages and only like two of the post were really answers... The rest were bashing. Point being that's not usually the case here... Bill has been a member for years... Obviously it's not spam... I use the term loosely. Just saying. Have good night everyone.

I used the mobile redirect for ICadult.com for a while. As soon as somebody enters the site it detects if it is mobile traffic. If it is, They get redirected to a mobile site. Mine always redirected to BaDoink.com.
