Arghhhh...submit yer sites ya ruddy swabs!

My list doesn't get a huge number of submissions. But, it's downright amazing how many crap submissions I get daily. A few sites/day that are nothing more than entry/main pages linked to sponsor galleries. Throw in the free hosts, sub-domains, blind links...it gets ugly quick. I'm still in the nice guy stage...sending out rejections with reasons. And those same sites just keep on comin. I've pretty much been forced to start blocking some submitters |

I always read both. I pay more attention to the rejects (thank god have not gotten to many (3 up til now) but I dont submit all over.) For me its a matter of not getting black listed. I have my own server and cant afford my subnets getting blocked. I check that weekly. When I joined here, I learned that everyone works hard and for me its just a matter of trying to make the other guys job a little easier. I read all the rules, if I have a question about one I ask before submitting. I have to say that being selective on who I submit to, reading their rules and sticking to them I think has gotten me better traffic. I tried the auto submit thing but seemed most of my traffic was from places that we all know have no way of paying for anything. I have one site that I use for autosubmitting and that traffic is now used for better things being its crap. BTW, for those of you who have wondered where i have been. Father in law finnaly went home after 40 days. Thank god...

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

If I get a rejection email, I assume the LL wants to list my site but I made some stupid error somewhere. So I definitely read those.
As for acceptance letters, I usually don't read those.

A lot of times, people will ask questions in the comments box, or make some funny little remark. I get called a 'filthy fuck' pretty often. So now I'm wondering if they ever see my witty replies.

I always check my rejections - I have them go to a speciall folder in Ouotlook Express. I then use that folder to make a list of all the bastards who rejected me so I can get them later! You hear that UW!! Your on my list!
Sometimes i think i miss some of the rejection emails if they dont have the word rejection or declined in the subject. But if I see it I read it and if its not clear why I got rejected I will usually ask so I can make changes later. I dont usually read the approval emails because they always tend to say the same thing "your link was approved and will be added to the directory on the next rebuild" and "Javes.com has approved the following freesite for inclusion because your so fucking cool" I usually make a mental note of who is accepting me though by seeing who they are from.

Yea, looks like most of us do about the same. Acceptance mails, unless the subject line gives a clue of new info, are generally not read.
So UW, we love to read your stuff bud...but, give us something in the subject line to let us know there's some witty diatribe in the mail and it'll get read. Even if it's to day...'Read This You Fucktard!" |

I think I'm going to change my email subject line for acceptance and rejection letters to "Important Note from Danger Dave".

now that I think about this a little more I do check acceptance mails from lists that take a while to review because I like to see how much review lag there is.

I read acceptance and rejection emails... I like to know what I did wrong if I made a mistype or something...
As for sending them out, all Certified sign ups get an automatic acceptance or rejection email... and when I reject someone I often send a personal note letting them know what the problem was since that's not part of the automated response. I don't know if anyone reads them but I care and want to help get folks listed.

Trying is the first step towards failure

I read 'em; some do have confirmation links in them too. Haven't gotten many rejection notices so far, but they've been appreciated both for the time it took to write and send, and the critique in helping me learn what I did wrong! Heck, I often re-scan the LL rules even when it says "last update to rules Oct 2004" as I go along submitting, just in case they've added something new and didn't change their update date.

I read both.
I pay closer attention to the declines, as I want to know where I went wrong so that I never make the same mistake again... It's really helpful to get those emails.

Same as everyone. Thoroughly examine the rejection ones, act like a prick and email back even if the guy said "find me on gg&j" and quiclky scan over the accepted ones but that's also because I don't like having unread messages in my inbox.

Rock stars ... is there anything they don't know?
|
I always read them and very much appreciate those rejection emails that specify why it was rejected. I keep track of freesites I've built, who they were submitted to, accepted by, rejected by and why in my database. If I've submitted more than one freesite in a particular niche to a LL and they don't send acceptance/rejection email, even though my stats may show traffic from that LL's niche page, I have no idea which freesite is generating the traffic.

I use to send out rejections with a reason why, but after several replied to just argue about the reasons I gave up.
oh and when I submit I never trust the "you have been listed" replies as I have found many that never really listed any sites, hell a few didn't even have the link lists any more but were still sending out you were listed lol |

Which reminds me - I've sent out a bunch of rejections this week with the reason 'Autosubmitted' and not single submitter has spoken up to deny it. Very sad.

I read both accept/reject mails. I really want to know who lists my sites and not. I hope to see more LLs send out mails.

I like reading both rejection and acceptance emails. The former I learn from, while the acceptance emails put a smile on my face. Then again, I do not submit very often.

I always read every acceptance and rejection Email. Obviously I don't like getting rejected but how else can you learn?
The only thing that pisses me off is when the rejection is unnecessarily rude. This is very rare and I just stop submitting to that LL.
