Quarter of 8-11 year olds have social networking profiles despite age limits
Another example of how age verification fails. Fox News/The Administration owns MySpace.

I see this as a problem with parents. It shouldn't be the responsibility of any website owner to keep kids out. That responsibility should be placed firmly on the parents heads.

I agree there is enough software out there for parents to control what sites thier kids can access. The Parents need to start taking resonsibility for their kids actions in regards to the web.

I think this a good example of how Internet age verification can't work. If Fox News can't get it to work then why should they expect the adult industry to be able to do it?

I found 2 of my granddaughters (ages 12/11) on myspace last summer. My son had gone with them to the public library and told me their myspace name. Their profiles read that they were 23/24 respectively and could "fuck you like you've never been fucked before" When I informed their mother, who was raised in my house that I felt this was inappropriate, she said it couldn't possibly be HER kids (even tho they had their 12/11 yr old pictures up there and yes they could pass) because they only have access to the computer in the family room. Ok.. cool.. but both the mother/father work 2 jobs and the girls are home alone for 4-6 hours every frigging night.
As a result..she (my extra daughter) is not speaking to me. She said i was too suspicious.. we'll see how that plays out when they decide they are old enough to "meet up" with someone from myspace who wants to be "fucked like they've never been fucked before" I agree.. it's the parents. |

I have no kids, so even with that said each pc in my home has a password on it so no matter what no one can use anyone of them without my knowledge. I think password protecting you pc in a home with kids should be a must.just my opinion
