I've got the gang war thing pretty much down though, if anyone needs some tips just shout.

When throwing the boxes off the train you've got to account for movement just like you would in real life, so if the car is next to the train aim just ahead of the guy to catch the boxes, and remember that just like with grenades the longer you hold the circle button the farther your throw the boxes...that's where I had the most trouble.

Catalyst is one of the first missions. You have to defend the train. Climb on as it starts rolling. Throw boxes of ammo/guns into the car driving behind. I think its pretty easy really. I'll just have to improve my aim when throwing the boxes.

I'm going to be getting into shooter games this christmas on the xbox. After getting my daughter an xbox I couldn't resist getting myself one too, especially with halo 2 coming out. I've ordered a few shooter titles : doom3, halo2, return to castle wolfenstein. If you have an xbox and want to get an ass kicking, we'll have to arrange something! |raygun|

I think Quake was the top shooter game, right? I seem to recall seeing this docu about a quake convention in Austin with a big price tag for the winner.

Yeah, driving that forklift is a pain in the ass. I actually knocked a couple crates over on their sides accidentally then couldn't pick them up at all...the first two times I tried that mission....DOH!


Once you get to the point where you're into the gang wars, I highly recommend taking a break from missions and taking over all the territories...if you have the patience, that is. Every 2 days or so in game time a rival gang tries to take over one of your territories and you have to go defend it, so it becomes a real pain in the ass. It took me quite a while to work out a good gang-war system, then another long while to take over all the territories, but good cash is rolling in and you can pick up a lot of SMGs and AK47s earlier than you could otherwise (from killed gang members). Plus respect is now at 100% and my skill level is at Hitman for the SMG and AK47.

So SA is now in stores for PS2 ? I played and finished GTA3 and ViceCity and they were fucking good. Cant wait to get my hands on SA.

I was kinda lucky with catalyst... with 5 seconds to go i had 5 boxes still to go, and i managed to pull it off!

was fucking hardwork though, need to work out how to start owning neighbourhoods now though cos it's a pain in the ass getting shot when driving through every hood lol.

Can you tell us how you recruit gang members and take over neighborhoods? |waves|

I found on the forklift stage, if you jump the first fence, but don't open it, then Ryder can't come in, so they can't shoot him. Go clear out all the National Guardsmen, then get all of your crates lined up outside near where Ryder will park the van (be sure to have a few extra incase you knock a couple of them over). Then go back and unlock the gate, run back to the forklift and start loading up. Its a lot shorter distance to travel so you can do it much faster! The only bad thing about this way is that a National Guardsman occasionally pops up and jerks you off the forklift (where the hell he comes from is beyond me)!

Go up to them and press UP on the D-Pad :)

A quick note...when you finish the first batch of missions and the second island unlocks, your gang is pretty much finished and you no longer own any territories. Might come back later, I don't know. For me it was still well worth the trouble to take them all over because of the cash I made doing it and the fact that I built up my skill levels with many weapons.

Yup, and you've got to be locked on to them when you do it. There's a mission where you have to recruit a couple guys to go with you and Sweet, and after that you can start recruiting gang members to roll with you whenever you want.

Completed 3 missions last night. Proud of myself. |jester| The tricky one is og oc (or something). I failed to catch that guy on the bike 3 times. Best way I found was not to bother shooting him, just concentrate on tailing him, and then waste him with an ak when he dismounts. :)

you gotta to kill some of the Vagos on top of a train

big smoke can't shoot for shit, the good thing thugh is every time I try it my bike skill increases :-)

I've also gotten 45 tags out of 100 but they are getting harder to find

The bikes are cool in SA. When i'm done with a mission I treat myself with screwing around on one for a bit.

I notice most of the gang is wank at shooting. When I was doing robbing uncle sam, I think it's sweet or rider, GOD he pissed me off. If not for wanting to pass the mission, I'd have capped him.

I don't play the game but I am see a profit in opening a SA anonymous clinic LOL SAA here we come |jester|
