You mean I never posted during the five minutes when it would have worked. Greenguy changing that quote so it looked like the username had changed to Greenguy really convinced me that it was working - guess I should have climbed into the fridge to check :D

Where can I get the code for it? I think it would help out the forums portion of a couple of sites immensly! I tried looking for the hack over a vBulletin, but no luck.

It's probably not that much different than the variable that would be used in the 'Welcome YourUserName' part of the board. Maybe you could bind a tag to it. Look through the code and see where tags (like [ QUOTE] are defined and play with it.
This is my guess (I haven't looked at this board's source before).
