That thread answers all the questions :)

thats a great link |thumb |thumb Loads of useful information on it.

to answer the question about why some sponsors don't do these? We speaking for our company, it was a challenge for us to figure out how to make the freesites work right with out scripts. once we got it figured out we committed to them full bore :)

I wouldn't call it extra, but yes. They are intended to be listed by LL owners. It's an incentive for link list owners to sign with a program. You could put them on your hub too, unless you are one of those people who thinks that a hub should only be your sites and galleries.

It's Hosted Free Sites or HFS - a "Free Hosted Site" has a completely different meaning to Link List owners :D

..and to answer your question, yes, it's pretty much for Link List owners just like Hosted Galleries are for TGP's owners.

Kenny, when building HFS' keep in mind that you will be competing for a spot on link lists with submitters who are forced to follow rules. Therefore, the closer your HFS' comply with the link list rules, the more likely it is to be listed. You can see what I think is the minimum standards for getting free hosted sites listed by clicking here.

One of the most common mistakes sponsors tend to make is that they do not include a title/name for the site and many even name the site the same name as the paysite they are promoting.

Also, for each HFS you should write a decent description and make it easily accessible to webmasters.

Chop, thanks for the link! I have registered our program to HFS and added your recip to IA Cash! We added our hosted free sites to the program last night and I did my best to follow as many of the tips given to me here.

I have to say it’s refreshing to be at a board that you can get good tips and advice, still shoot the shit and not be bombarded with people just looking to get sig in every thread!
