Yep, no power, and therefore no heat, for 11 days for us. Our son was only 7 months old when that happened, so I drove 8 hours south into the US to find a generator, and then straight back home. My Aunt had gas heating in her house, so I tied the generator into her furnace fan so we at least had heat. A bunch of the family went over there, and at one point, there were over 40 of us staying in her house.

For the first few days it was hard to find food, as nothing was open. But, we survived :D

I'll take roasting in the summer heat and humidity any day over freezing to death.

We are very lucky this time that our weather is so nice that I probably wouldn't be running the A/C even if I had power.

Workers down from Louisiana surveying damage inspected my block this afternoon. They felt it would be another week before I have power again. Have I mentioned how glad I am that I bought a generator?

Yep Cleo, this is prime time in these parts. Haven't had my a/c on in almost 2 weeks |thumb

Beautiful days in the low 80's...comfortable nights in the mid 60's. My favorite time of year in Florida :)
