Do NOT read Blood Memory -- I read it thru.. started out ok and about 2/3 of the way thru the story turned into fucking weird.

The Prey Series -- These are great reads (altough some are out of print already others were just released recently) by John Sanford -- I think I've read about 8 of these ..maybe more? I forget b/c I took what I had to the used bookstore...

Yes it is - it got me into reading his books. They are all pretty different from each other. Zodiac is a great Eco-Thriller!

I havnt seen James Clavells name mentioned once! 'The Asian Saga' is like a bible for men, much like Puzos Godfather.

Stephenson's "Zodiac" is pretty excellent - one of the great first books by any author I've read. "Cryptonomicon" by Stephenson is a damn fine read too. I'm reading the middle book of his latest opus, "The Baroque Cycle" - a challenging read, but fantastic so far. "The Diamond Age" was a great book too.

Richard Morgan is pretty good too. "Altered Carbon" and "Broken Angels" - if you like science fiction.

If you like science fiction try Alastair Reynolds - start with "Revelation Space" - possibly the best 'hard' science fiction novel written in the last 20 years.

Course, I like trashy military SF for fun reading. ;-}

yes the Clavell books are a must read!! I have all of them and reread them at least once every 2 years or so. |thumb Shogun and Taipan are my favorites but all of them have good merits.

Shogun is a great classic
(relatively speaking of course)

The last good book I read was "A Widow for One Year" by John Irving. I am now reading "Until I Find You" by...Mr John Irving :)

Oh yeah, in between I read, "The Loomis Gang". It was good but it was about local history so if you don't live in the Mohawk Valley, you wouldn't like it.
