Leaving Vivid was her own choice, I was not saying that this was wrong. However if she were to start a production herself and have the rule "everyone must wear a condom", that would be "forcing people to bend to her will", and as wrong as producers who do not allow their performers to wear condoms.

I actually find it a refreshing change that there are options for performers who would prefer to use condoms in their shoots. I would say that a majority of producers would rather shoot no-condom because it 'sells better'. In the past performers may have been perceived no option other than to compromise their personal protection preferences in order to work. Nice to see that there are alternatives out there for those who would prefer to work with condoms. I'm also happy to see more condoms in porn as an educational tool for the general public. Condoms can be sexy too...even in porn. |
Chi Chi Larue is a man baby.
He is a gay porn director but has a contract with Vivid to direct. |

Condoms, seatbelts, helmets . . . I think it's up to the person whether or not they use them and I don't think condoms should be legally REQUIRED in porn (why should a monogomous couple, for example, producing porn at home with each other have to wear condoms?). But I still agree that what Emma said is worth celebrating: it seems like most people in this industry will peddle anything as long as they think it will sell, even if they are personally opposed to it on ethical grounds. How many times have you heard someone on a board crowing about how disgusting, sick and wrong they think _______ porn is BUT they are proud as punch to be making money off of it anyway! The point is that it's refreshing to see someone who makes business decisions that reflect personal ethics.
For the record, I am proud as punch to make money off of porn I find personally offensive. |bananna| I am no Chi Chi in that regard. |
