Sorry if I go back to Kitty Kate's original thread for a bit.

Hello Kate,|waves|

Believe me when I say no-one can share your pain better than I do. It seems you're having the same problem I was having. Don’t worry you can make it go away.

Just to start feeling a bit better try what Useless Warrior pointed out to me in the other thread, it worked wonders for me (Thanks again UW|thumb ):

Zio - contact your host and inform them that the IP you are on is blacklisted by SORBS and see if they can handle the issue for you. Also, if I use the this link, with your domain in it, http://whois.domaintools.com/toxsite.com it shows that your server's IP is blacklisted. But if I got to http://whois.domaintools.com and then enter your domain, it says Blacklist Status: Clear - weird, eh?
You’ll see that your domain is both blacklisted and not!

And here is where I join the crowd. 2 things:
1) Get paid hosting (which you’re doing).
2) Get a different IP by changing your ISP. [If you have Telecom Italia dump it with extreme prejudice. In my case it is Telecom’s fault if I had my IP blocked and domain blacklisted, and I suspect this might just be your case as well. SORBS has evidently blocked a whole range of Telecom’s IPs and the only solution would be for the two to clear things out between them: |catfight| Fat chance!!! I took care of #1 and got a new provider. Do what you will but if I were you…]

That’s all you need.

Good luck.

Yeah, I definately feel for you. But its not all bad, I mean youre domain isnt blacklisted, you didnt get yourself a black mark or anything. The really bad thing that could have happened is if Mr. Yum wouldnt have said anything to you and you kept on submitting and working and not getting listed anywhere because of the free hosting. Possibly even getting blacklisted at a few link lists for using it.

Now you are free to promote who you choose, you dont have to worry about the free host going anywhere a year or 2 from now (and losing a year or 2 worth of work), you dont have to worry about anything being added to the free sites, etc... You can build and submit till your hearts content.

And just for the record ARS (adult revenue service) used to have a free host. They dont anymore... Things happen, sponsors change, re-invent themselves, go out of business, laws change, etc...

Anyways, youre still in good shape. You can re-use those free site templates with a bit of new content, get your SORBS thing straightened out, get your useful script thing straightened out, start making some money :)

Cheers
WB

Kate, first off...just so you know...it was not me that put you on the usefulscripts blacklist. I sent you that email as a courtesy to let you know of the problems and how to correct them :)

UW, yea bud and I do appreciate the input in both threads. At this point, I have no doubt that Kate is not a spammer...so obviously her domain should not be on that list.

However, I do still have very real concerns about google either now or sometime in the future using that list to determine a bad neighborhood. And I'm just not willing to risk all the hard work I've done and am doing to build se traffic. FPP is coming on strong in the serps...I intend to see that trend continue |thumb

Besides, from what I'm seeing...this does indeed appear to be ip related. Any reputable host should be more than willing to move a customer that's on a problem ip...should be an easy fix.

As to the sponsor hosting...I don't see that changing anytime soon. Sponsor hosts do in fact sometimes go away...even the BIG ones. So yea, sponsor hosts...free hosts...same thing.

Besides, hosting is CHEAP these days! I really don't mean to be rude here...but geez, nah...nevermind...just deleted that lil mini free stuff rant :D

MrYum: You always was friendly to me, and I thank you for that. If you re-read my first post, you wil see that I was not metting in doubt the reason that my free site got rejected to free-porn-post.com. That was your decision and I have to just live with it.

My question in the first post was about seeing my domain "clear" when somebody else saw it "dirty". As you could see the next day, once was dirty and the next time you checked was clear.

Once again, I apologize to you if it seemed like I'm blaming you for anything. |thumb

About the big sponsor hosting issue, I'll change hosts as soon as the guys from Dreamhost explain me how am I supposed to fax them an imprint of the VIRTUAL credit card used when signed up (quote from them "Please place your credit card under this paper and make an imprint of the card below by rubbing a pencil or crayon along the surface of the paper. A photocopy is not acceptable. Please ensure that the card number is legible - multiple rubbings are OK!"). |huh |crazy|

No worries here Kate...I knew your first post wasn't casting stones. Just wanted to be really clear that I don't blacklist people arbitrarily :)

You may find that simply changing your host also solves the sorbs blacklist issue. Will be interesting to see if that's the case...sure hope so |thumb
