Unfortunately this is one of those issues where people are totally irrational -- it has nothing to do with caring about animals or even people, and has everything to do with a hysterical fear of sex.

What if, just what if, despite their lack of fingers and toes and the ability to walk upright, those animals brains are developed more than we realize? We seem to have come up with excuses for every type of mental illness and flaw in humans... ADD, ADHD, etc., so how do you know the emotional process of the animals isn't affected. Maybe the animals are sent spiraling into an abyssmal depression and long for the slaughter, much like abused people becoming suicidal. Their primitive communication skills prevent them from expressing their desire to not be used as a sexual tool, however you assume it's ok? What's next, Invalids?

Since we don't know, all discussion is strictly opinion and will remain as such until we have definitive proof one way or the other. I'd say it boils down to personal ethics and discretion. BTW, I've been a vegetarian most of my life. I don't have sex with animals because I think it is wrong, I also have yet to get turned on by anything other then a human animal, and I also don't eat them because I think it is wrong but until the time comes when animals are no longer slaughtered because some like to eat their flesh I find it really pointless to be concerned about having sex with one.
