I use CuteFTP, WSFTP, CORE FTP, and Smart FTP....I typically use Cute FTP most because it's the one I've always used...Core is pretty good and has a free trial that doesn't expire and Smart is pretty good too...Smart is probably the best, but Cute is my favorite...Smart is good to have around because for some reason, Cute doesn't always show the .htaccess file which you have to edit now and then to turn the global dupes off. That's my two cents...

MS Ftp, yes the console one that comes with Windows

For some reason it kicks the shit out of other FTP clients in terms of upload and download speeds and it's excellent for automating uploads.

Since console FTP isn't always the best solution I also use Filezilla. Quite frankly the number of FTP clients is unbelievable considering that they all do the same thing.

I use Filezilla also.

I started out with CuteFTP, then for a reason I can't recall changed to WS_FTP. I haven't found either to be perfect, though it's been a while since I looked at the latest versions of either. FileZilla is a pretty good application, too, and it's free.

I guess it's not too late to say that I burn everything on CD and mail it to my host. They upload it to my box. I never could decide on a FTP software because there are so many to choose from.

stfuvt 2007-07-19 10:35 AM

Fonz 2007-07-19 11:25 AM

I think he has found an FTP program after 3 months :)

Greenguy 2007-07-19 04:14 PM

He could still be weighing his options & wondering if it'd be expensive to mail Useless his files.

I've been using Cute FTP ever since I can remember. Back in the day it used to free because it had ads on it. Sill use it and have yet to find something that works better.

I come from a redneck town in canada and we do things the old fashion way.

I pack each packet of data a lunch, usually a peanut butter sandwich, and wrap it in road map with a one way bus ticket. Just have to hope they take the hint and head off to my host.

Some come back though |banghead|
..im tired

I know you aren't new to the interwebs, Greenie. I've seen 500 posts before regarding a plane on a conveyor belt. This is NOTHING. :D
