Most don't. :(
I use different domains for my mirrors with different kw's. Sometimes different ads too. Anything to mix it up and hopefully get past a duplicate content filter and get some search engine traffic to all of them. Every little bit helps. |headbang|

Based purely on traffic numbers I could justify having only one recip table (16 recips), but I believe in Karma (the Earl principle). Therefore I have a second recip table on most of my submits, gathered from known serious WMs from this board. Not because they send a lot of traffic, but because I like to spread the love around and (selfishly) hoping for some in return. If everybody who submits to my LLs really studied their server stats they'd probably drop me instantly.

This is a good outlook on things, Ilike you have gone the whole hog before and seen little in return though I try to support the LL of people I have met here and other places by sending them sites. To me being listed is the most important thing, then the traffic, I get really annoyed when people dont list and clearly are not updating their pages but yet leave submissions open - that in my book is cheating.

Nice attitude dude - |thumb

Well, I've come up with 20 link lists from the board here and another 7 that send decent traffic so I can set up another 3 recip tables with 9 on each one. Gonna spread the love |shake| |lovers|

OTB is an essential for me, and should be for any wise-ass who thinks he knows it all, like me ;)
I never fail to be reminded of something I already knew, but haven't practised as much as I should, or learn something completely new!

3 p.m. Satarday EST, or 1900 UTC and make sure you're in the chatroom, you learn as much there as just listening, everyone helps each other in that great conspiracy against the porn buying public :D

another vote for OTB here, I always feel energized after the show & start all kinds of things that I try to finish :D Besides, it's my only social life to speak of |cry|

it does help when you know the players you're playing with :)

(Not much indeed) Each mirror only adds 12 KB to my storage allotment but every time a surfer views a banner or image they're consuming my data transfer allotment, which is "burning bandwidth". I'm not concerned with data storage as much as data transfer. So yes, I'm burning bandwidth. Are we talking about two different things?

you were talking about your "recepts" not the site... and I did ask if you put all the NON producing "recepts" on 1 mirror page.. if so.. dump it.

Text banners work very well also and cut down on bandwidth .. tho it's not like 10 years ago and we were paying megabucks for bandwidth.. it's very cheap now days and unless you have posting movie galleries on The Hun then burning bandwidth shouldn't be that much of a concern.

...and now we're up to 12 cents. :D

No recordings for OTB as far as I know. Only from that thing they used to have here on the board called "Radio Show" or something like that |couch|

And Licker4U, I see you still like my LL :D

If the sponsor offers it, you can also setup multiple campaigns. This is a great tool that many webmasters bypass.

stuveltje 2007-06-14 04:38 PM

as an old free site submitter i will tell you what i did ( old time for me) when i made free sites the first i did submit them to as many linksite i could, then i found out that the newbie LL gave me more sales then the old one, ofcourse the old ones gave me more traffic, but i was looking for sales, so at that point i prefered my site listed at a linksite where only 6 sites where listed in the category which i submitted to then a linksite with 100s of sites i submitted to, reason the less sites, the more hits i would get even only 5 hits, but its easier for a surfer to choose between 5 sites then 100s of sites, then i changed my way of working, because i noticed the newbie linksites all went dead, no i prefer to only submit one page of my free site and then only to the ones who list me for ever, gg, rr, linkster and some more, because on the long term i have more benefit of those linksites even they have tons of links listed there, it means something for the ses and i am listed forever, so even i made the site 6 years ago....still new surfers will see me on those lls:D

In your sponsor stats almost all of them show you which site made a sale. That tells you which recip grouping made a sale. Also, a lot of sponsors have a link when you're selecting your link codes which lets you set up a campaign. Put in whatever letters you want to use to track sales and it will show up in the stats at the sponsor.

in my eyes, traffic is traffic & you can never get enough. If you're taking the traffic that may not buy right away and sending them around your network then it's all good :)

exactly. Every bit helps. If I can submit to couple hundred places and get only 2-3 hits from each one. That's still 200-600 hits. Which if they bookmark my hub, my whatever and keep coming back. It all adds up.
Basically to just have to submit an already made site around some more seems worth it to me.

my 2cents.

That's what I do. I can type as fast as any good secretary so typing isn't an issue. I have a little routine that helps me submit manually pretty fast. When I was submitting to 85 link lists I could get them all done in an hour and 15-20 minutes. Now I'm down to 45 submits and I haven't checked the time but I'm sure its around 35-40 minutes.

FYI, you should remove the hidden whois (Domains by Proxy) on your submitted URL, or you won't get accepted by a lot of linklists. :(
