I tried money laundering once, but all the print came off.

My understanding is that many U.S. banks won't deal with Epass at all because it's in violation of those pesky U.S. anti-online gambling laws.

I don't think it's because of the anti-gambling because that was going on before the US Ports and Security Bill that ended my other websites/affiliate programs...epass for some reason is considered and off-shore bank...I don't know why or more about it, but I've read that hear and there...mostly on sites that's don't accept it or affiliate programs that don't pay by it...

your limit is 300 including fees so you can only take out 280 and you must select checking

The limit can be raised depending on your balance by filling out a form or if you have 2 CCs or a CC and a US bank account attached to your account the limits can be double by upgrading to Select by clicking "Increase Limits"

By two CCs are you referring to epassporte CCs because when i asked about a second card i was told this was not possible?

I think he means OTHER credit cards which you can use to load your Epass account with. It's an excellent way to pay your real CC's highest percentage rate for a cash advance. |thumb I won't be doing that again.

Thanks UW. That's obvious when you point it out. If i'd had a coffee before posting i probably would have realised Keysers meaning straight away and saved myself some typing.

I bought domains on Godaddy and I always use it to pay the hosting, but at the same time there was a couple of times when I tried to buy other stuff and it didnt work for me. I guess it depends on what you wanna buy (or where).

ecchi 2007-12-18 06:13 PM

I had a conversation with CitiBank about this a couple of months ago. Long and involved story, but the bottom line is that if a processor won't accept ePass or other pre-loaded cards it is because the processor has either not fully passed all trust laws, or has been caught breaking some regulation. Apparently any damn fool can get an account to provide processing for "real" cards, but you have to be able to prove you are trustworthy (and not a gangster or terrorist) before you can process pre-loaded cards like ePassporte.

I just bought an ipod and a ps3 with it off of amazon. They shipped today. Worked just fine.

Yeah, paying those cash advance fees to load it, when I started the account, sucks moldy dogshit.

Why the hell does anybody use cash advance? That's some crazy shit.

I only ever use mine to spend money my sponsors send me, I never load it myself.

Some reasons for declines is that the virtual card is issued in another country than the card holder is in, Its a virtual card and its a debit card.
My personal experiences is that card holders located in the US gets declined more often because the credit card processors are stricter.

If it is a debit card, then why don't you register it as such. It is registered as a "pre-loaded credit card" by ePassporte, this in itself limits it's use, because there are some things you can pay with a debit card that you cannot legally pay for with credit card. Someone at ePassporte has listed the card as a type of credit card but NOT a debit card. If you list the damn thing as a debit card we could use it for more things. (Source, again, CitiBank, who checked this for me: ePassporte is a Credit card only, not a debit card, and the only people who can have set this definition, or change it, are ePassporte themselves.)

Now days I just use mine to get cash out of the ATM, though I pick "credit card", guess it works by using checking also?

I've used it to buy many things online and offline, with the right number of course. Can't think of getting declined much. Works fine at Walmart..:)

Only thing that bummed me out was when it stopped working with Paypal.

stuveltje 2007-12-19 12:42 PM

virtual card you use online to buy things (every shop or company who accept visa electron, they have to show the visa electron logo on their site) never had problems, plastic card to use for pulling cash from atm (cant use it for anything else to pay with in holland), also never had problems! the plastic card wont work for online buying, you have to have the virtual card for that one!

DangerDave 2007-12-19 05:13 PM

I just used my "virtual visa" online, successfully, for the first time - thanks to the information in this thread..

Thanks all

wow man your limit is 300? thats very low my limit has always been 500....and some people got 1k limits...

jonnydoe 2007-12-20 10:51 AM

Great thread...I didn't realize the virtual number worked online. I think that the plastic card is a creditcard because of the processing costs but that is just a guess.

I have been told by submit passes that they won't take epassporte but I wonder if they would run the virtual number as a creditcard...

sean 2007-12-20 01:05 PM

I've bought flight tickets, holiday packages, insurance, domains, dvds... Never had any problems. Only Paypal didn't accept it.

Triton2004 2007-12-23 05:48 AM

Can I pay with it on ebay?

If the seller accepts credit cards, then yes, but I don't think many sellers accept credit cards.

However you cannot list ePassporte payments as a method of payment in your auctions (not direct ePassporte transfers) as this is against their rules. eBay do not allow sellers to use any service similar to PayPal, because they own PayPal and don't want the competition. If you use the name of any such processor (ePassporte, StormPay, etc.) their system simply does not list your auction (a script scans your listing for such words before putting it on their site).

thanks for the infos ecchi...

The CVV2 number is located in your message center either in the welcome message or a message with the subject "Important Information" with a little pad lock next to it.
If you have any questions please email or ICQ me.

Informations in this thread made me sooo happy!
I never succeeded in online payments, I totally forgot about the "Welcome to Epassport" internal notification and the Virtual Visa with its own CVV...

Thanks a lot! ;)
