Good afternoon all |waves|

Emerald and I are back from our Cuba trip and I have to say we had a blast but we did stay fairly local to the hotel so that may have made a difference and we had no problems at all entering Cuba, which were grateful for after hearing of a few horror stories. We decided this trip we would hang out on the hotel complex and get a feeling for the place and then if we returned we would explore further having made some contacts who knew the area much better and could advise us on the best places to see at the right price. The weather was high 20's to mid 30's all week but we both agreed, one week was enough having been in the hotel we stayed at.

We moved from our first hotel room as soon as they could get another (2 days) because we had no warm water, no tv, no safe in the room (The door had been ripped off!) and no air con, which left us sweltering through the night. The second room was nice though and had all the mod cons and an ocean front view.

The heat and food were pretty much the same everyday although we were invited to a local family's house for a pig roast which was interesting. These folks lived in a shack on a coral beach in paradise. The house was about 10' x 10', slept four and was very very basic. Then again they were happy and made us feel welcome so what the hell.

We should have been home on the 29th but after we boarded the plane one of the doors couldn't be closed. After a long delay the flight was cancelled until they could get an engineer flown in to fix it and at 1am that morning we were shuttled to a hotel an hour away. We were picked up again at 9 the next morning and finally left midday yesterday getting in late last night.

I’ll drop a link to some photos of the trip once were sorted out but first and foremost I have a lot of catching up to do. It was nice to get away but it’s great to be home again.

I hope you all have a good day whatever it brings you |thumb

Just rummaging through my April '08 Ccbill stats. Up 20% from last April, so no complaints here. Going to play some tennis this afternoon outdoors, although it is a bit on the cool side. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon everyone. |waves|

It's labor day over here too (dia de los trabajadores) :D
I am probably the only one working on this day, and due to the fact no one works the streets are totally desolated its kinda strange but I like it (less noise)
Good day everyone!

Hell I can almost read Dutch.... "Tag der Arbeit" in German - I think that between German and English I can read about 60% of Dutch. When I used to date Rolinka from Ursem (Between Alkmaar and Horrn) I figured out two things - I can read most Dutch and I'll never be able to choke on my words enough to speak Dutch.

My kids have the day off school so we were chatting on icq. My daughter says she has two holidays "Tag der Arbeit" and "Christi Himmelfahrt" (Jesus Drives To Heaven)

Woke up to quarter-sized snowflakes falling - sat in the hot tub and let them melt on my face. Supposed to get warm again tomorrow and I think I'll be planting the rest of my garden sometime this week. Hope the cherries don't freeze.

Tonights shoot got postponed cuz the model wrecked he knee last night - poor girl need the rent money too.

Now to go play in the snow....

Ohh I can't wait to see the pictures. I went once in the 1980's .. via Canada. We didn't have to show passports at the border before coming back to the US back then. As soon as I got back, I reported my passport as stolen so I could get a new one with no cuba stamp in it. But I still have the original. We were there 5 days.. more than enough. but I was adventurous and one of my friends in NYC had his cousins take us all over.

I want to go back .. so i put it on my bucket list.
