Merry Xmas everyone. |waves|

Yesterday at the stores was a frikken nightmare, but I think we got everything taken care of for tomorrow. There's still some snow items we need to pick up for the kids before we head to the mountains. Snow gear is expensive! Add that to the gifts we bought and I'm broke. |angry|

I'll be taking a few days off but if possible I'll pop my head into the board -- depends on if I have internet at the house we're staying at.

Good morning and afternoon world |waves|

Finished last local shopping this morning and now just watching the UPS tracking site to be sure some things ordered days ago are getting where they should be today.

Having an 'orphans dinner' with some good people tomorrow, so no cooking here. I miss the smell of food so I'm headed to the kitchen to figure out what I can make today just to get some aromas in here.

Oh, and it's going to be 78-79ºF all week so I have the a/c on and cranked up so I can feel a little cold sitting here in shorts and a shirt with no sleeves.

An early Happy Holidays wish to all.

:)

Good Christmas Eve everybody :)

I'm late on the board because I had to go out and clear yet more snow! We have been getting way more than the average and just to keep things interesting I even had to pull the damn stuff off the roof.

Nothing much to say beyond that except to tell Torn to get up here and come see the real stuff :)

Have a great day everybody and for those not around tomorrow, Merry Christmas from Emmy and myself |snowman2

We just got back from the store and I can say this with the knowledge of living in middle of Indiana corn fields for 18 years and having countless blizzards and countless feet of snow.

*THIS IS THE WORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN*

I say that due to the fact the Portland area (and my friends in Seattle say the same thing) is *NOT* in anyway shape or form ready for any snow storm at all. The *ONLY* hope is getting back to the 40’s like we are suppose to Thursday/Friday.

Yes, I know Buffalo and Canada and a million other places get way worse snow/weather, but the difference is, your areas are READY and use to it. This area isn’t even close to being ready or use to it. This would be comparable to Miami getting 12” of snow for a week, it’s that bad.

I still haven’t bought chains for my Jeep which is mandatory, since we haven’t gone to the mountains yet I didn’t see the need… I wish I had them now.

Since we live on a steep hill they are plowing the streets that run East/West North and South of us (Our street runs North/South) so we had to get some speed and ram our way through about 50’ of 3-4’ deep of snow and Thankfully, my 4 wheel drive made it, of course getting home was a bigger question since we need to drive uphill and of course when I was going as fast as I could going up the hill to plow into that deep snow a car just had to be coming from a side street… not that I stopped at the stop sign.

But we made it….

We walked to our downtown and snapped a few pics, I’ll post some in a few.

I just learned a valuable lesson.

When you get a knock at the door, and live on a hill with a shit load of snow/ice on the streets, and you answer the door and see a postal person with a package and yet, you don't see a postal car anywhere nearby.....

DO NOT LAUGH!

She wasn't at all pleased with me and actually shoved my package into my chest and yelled at me for laughing...

I have no idea how far she walked, but it "shocked me" since I wasn't expecting it so it made me laugh.... some people just don't have a sense of humor.|lol|
