I'm back!!!
And I'm glad to see this thread. It means alot to me that people are "wondering" about hoes.com. At least it hasn't been forgotten. The main issue here has been letting go of two employees. The problem is that these were the employees handling the day to day with free site submissions and reviews. This was a sudden firing of these guys for crazy reasons and I was unprepared to handle their work. I made a decision to take a break from free sites while I sorted this all out. My apologies for not posting a thread about it. I've just been crazy out of my mind as you can imagine. Anyway, rest assured that all of the backlogged submissions are still in the system. I will catch up with them day by day as I've been able to better prioritize my workload. As one of you mentioned, I began sending out an email today related to the niche category recip links. Yes, those are a HUGE mistake these days. The surest way to get nailed by Google is to keep pounding away at the same anchor text link day after day. It's affected many linklists over the last 6 months and the best way to improve our situation is to either not use them or randomize the links pointing to our sites. Because older linklists like hoes.com have 100k+ free sites pointed at them, it's not an easy task to get those links changed. The email I sent out today is an effort to at least get "some" of them changed. Basically, if you have a way of going through your backlog of free sites and randomizing or changing the anchor text, then I am offering a permanent link to a site of your choice as a thank you for your efforts. I do have new recip links available and I wish for everyone to start using them as they are different than before. As of today, there are 2000 sites in the queue. I''m hoping some of those can be changed before I get to them. If not, I'll send out that email letting you know of the issue. I know it's a pain to change things, but the old way of forcing anchor text recips is dead. Natural linking is king, but impossible to imitate for free sites. So random anchor text is a step in the right direction. Random meaning "Great Porn Site" or "Check This Porn" or "Hoes.com Links" or whatever really... it needs to look natural. Linking with "Blowjobs" isn't going to work anymore! thanks everyone marc |
I also understand your concerns about movieroom and agree with everything. My 2011 strategy is to get back to my roots. Hoes and movieroom are my roots. The new mainstream projects have taken me away from all of this.
I'll make announcements here as I am able to provide more things for Movieroom. I also plan to revamp the tour a bit to improve conversions. Make it known though that the tube sites have hurt DVD pay sites alot so 2008 conversion don't seem possible. But I can improve it. marc |
Glad to hear you are working on submits. And I will start submitting to you again. |thumb
I just purchased a TGP from a guy today and created a link list/TGP site from it. Reading your post, I put 5 or 6 choices that had other words in them, to make them seem more natural (yet not blind). Thanks for the tip...something I would not have thought of. And would love to see you get better conversions for MovieRoom. I know none of us has as good of conversions in this economy as we did a few years ago, but improvement would be good. |
Oh, and all movieroom payments will be caught up this week. Some idiot modified a check I sent out. Changed it from $156 to $8156 and cashed it. So I had to hold payments until this was resolved. Dumb ass is going to hit the jail cell for that one.

I didn't see new recips at the link off the submit page. Looked like the old page to me.
Are you going to have guidelines for randomizing links? |
The links here are new:
http://www.hoes.com/go/webmasters/linking.html I plan to randomize them myself periodically. And then announce on the submit page to grab the new ones. I won't do it that often as I don't want to make this a pain in the ass. But monthly would make sense. But webmasters can use whatever they wish for the recip. I suppose that's the new policy! As long as you still link to the matching niche category, you can make the text anything you wish. marc |
marc, I dont understand the "Regarding your hoes.com link submission... I'm mixing things up." letters I'm getting, the ones with a link to a site subbed to you some weeks ago.
For instance, one I got today contained a link to a gay freesite I subbed, then under that is a single line that says: Pretty russian whore Taylor Russo gets her curly pussy nailed and cum facialized something I never wrote for sure, and I have no idea what the email means. but it feels like a rejection email, with the "Regarding your hoes.com link submission" I got another similar one - containing a link to a gay freesite subbed some time ago, and the rest of it was the text of your recent letter, the "propose an offer" letter. What do these emails mean? --- I was planning on going back over some freesites and randomizing the link texts for you, but it will take me a week or two to get started. |
marc good to see you back hands on in all of this!
i know that with you there things will improve and you'll get all caught up.. good talking with you via email as well man. I'll start dropping some new free sites to you as early as this next week. |

Sounds like that first email you received was a copy/paste mistake on my part. Sorry about that. Basically, I'm going back through the backlog of free sites and sending this email out to as many unique webmasters as I can. I simply can't keep accepting free sites with the same tired anchor text. I'm trying to not duplicate the email too many times, but it's hard for me to tell if I've sent it before. It seems lots of webmaster use unique emails depending on the domain of the site they submit. In your case, do you use one unique email address? If so, please shoot that to me at marc_b (at) hoes.com so that I can make sure to accept the rest of yours since you said you plan to go back and randomize. Forgive me if you accidentally get another of those emails... it would be purely by mistake. marc |
Marc - it's your site, but it seems kinda shitty to reject sites that were submitted weeks ago because you changed the way the recip link is a couple days ago. I mean, they were submitted following the rules at the time & you're punishing people because they could not foresee the future.

Hey Greenguy! Oh, I'm not deleting all those old ones, I'm attempting to email JUST ONCE to people that have submitted recently letting them know of the new policy. If I email multiple times, it's a mistake. So in essence just one site is being rejected, but they are free to resubmit it. Sorry for the confusion. It's not my intent to force everyone to change the old submissions in order to get approved... just trying to get the word out. marc |

Most certainly, yes. The whole point is to move away from the standard which you are doing.... so thank you. marc |
Maybe busy for some reasons. If you are waiting for long confirmation. :D

Have you received any confirmation emails from me? I'm accepting a big batch every day. marc |
My latest freesites have been accepted, the ones I submitted before I started this thread are still floating around in your review queue I guess.
|
i keep getting new ones and older ones accepted, so i know it's being updated..
:) |

Yes, I'm accepting a mix of old and new in the queue while I get caught up. Still around 1000 sites in the queue, but I'm doing my best to get everything done! marc |

Site was submitted on 11-19-10 (I keep a spread sheet) which was a month before your change |huh It's OK, it is your site. Just giving you and others a heads up |
Not trying to add fuel to the fire but this statement-
"Google is cracking down on repetitive anchor text and hurting sites." Is not true in my opinion. Recip links are highly devalued now compared to a few years ago. You might want to hit some of the major seo forums and try to strategize a well formulated backlink plan. If I come across rude im really not trying to be, I would just like to see the changes you implement have a positive effect for the long term. |

Sorry about that... I'm trying to hit up site owners "just once" with that note. My apologies if you've seen it before. I'm very close to getting through the old queue. marc |
Quote:
Yes, I agree that they are devalued, but they also see mass amounts of the same inbound anchor text as un-natural (which it is) and the algorithmic side of their penalty machine can take over. |
Have you received payment from Movieroom for November?
|
Good to have you back!
A site I submitted last week was accepted, but I did not receive a confirmation email. Also, several sites I submitted over the last few months have not been listed, but I'll be patient :) |

I'm going through the queue on my own these days so it's a little slower. Rest assure that I'll get them all in over time though. thanks for the submissions. I'm also looking for good quality trades if anyone is interested. marc |
