PC didn't hide the fact that he was interested in selling from anyone. It was posted on other boards as well as here and it wasn't the first time he had considered selling. However, I don't believe the posts you are referring to were posted anywhere but here. At least I have not seen them elsewhere. PC had visitors accustomed to daily updates and his submitters were approved and listed within a day. None of that happened after about August of last year, so it was more than just a couple of weeks of inactivity. When you don't update a list on a regular, even Google knows it and reports it. Like I said with my sites, they never were down even for a day. I just didn't have time with school to update and those lack of updates really hurt. Now I do have the time and the patience to rebuild my empire.

Running the Link Checker on 9k or so links...

Licker made me breakfast (I'm so spoiled).

I will be looking for a new script today for NL.

Tonight is dinner at the local Thai restaurant with friends.

ecchi 2016-05-12 04:35 PM

writing scripts that do things to databases. If I don't fuck up (which is a distinct possibility) I should have ClitPass' submit page back up by the end of the weekend.

Scratch that. Landlord texted me this morning, looks like I'll be spending most of the weekend packing.

Back to working on ClitPass. Slight false alarm with the landlord. I thought he was going to impose a final deadline on my moving out, however it was the council pushing for a final deadline, and we agreed that I write to them to try and get some leeway. So although I may soon get a "out in 4 weeks or in come the bailiffs" letter, we are not as near to that as I thought. Which means I can spend some time working, and try to earn enough money to be able to afford the move!

I actually finished the first rough pass on all 5 main link lists and cleaned out the dead links on the friends. Working on cleaning out more old stuff from the database but also adding new, fresh stuff everywhere. I do still have a lot of picky things to do, but I see a lot of progress for the 2 weeks I have invested. It's starting to feel a lot more familiar too. I can almost remember where I left off at times.

Thursday is Link Checker day...

Trying to find my USB memory stick.

I'm house sitting from tomorrow, and have already dropped off my laptop there. And now I've remembered something else I need to transfer to my laptop and cannot remember the "safe" place I chose to store the memory stick. I rarely use it as I have an external hard drive which I normally just plug into whichever computer I'm using, but I don't want to carry that across London on a crowded train.

Christmas before last, I needed a new laptop for school. We didn't have a lot of money to spare so my husband got a Chromebook for me. There is no hard drive or CD rom in them, but... you get Google Drive as a place to keep your files. I actually got hooked on it. I would do my homework on my desktop and just save it to the drive. I could work from anywhere as long as I remembered my logon. Even though I am no longer in school, I still use it mainly because it is free and there. Very very handy when you can't remember where the memory stick is.

You just talked me out of buying one, both are a must (so is a DVD drive, and ideally a Blu-Ray drive). I still actually miss the floppy drive!

Pagan 2016-05-21 03:29 AM

Mind you, I have both of those on my desktop computer. The Chromebook has 11 hours of battery life, and weighs only about 2 kilos. For school, it was fantastic.

Well I have been out of the game for a few years but still have a bunch of my old sites sitting there, so I am spending the next few days/weeks trying to tidy them up, updating, etc etc

ecchi 2016-05-25 07:13 AM

Not been well enough to work for a few days, too tired and headachey. Today I'm feeling better, so gonna take the puppy for a walk then set to work on the backlog.

Been working like crazy on building and finishing sites for people and I don't see an end to this madness anytime soon lol. Plus updating my own sites etc, fun fun :)

ecchi 2016-06-01 06:57 AM

Was planing to work on the scripts for ClitPass. However I went through my emails first. Got one from PayPal reminding me that I have to change to HTTPS or they will stop sending people to my download pages. So I gotta sort that out. Then I find a problem with several sites (all are those that were passed to GoDaddy by ICANN, so I'm guessing GoDaddy fucked up again). So I have got to sort that out. Plus it is the end of the month, so I've got to do my monthly scan for domains that need renewing. All these jobs are important, have to be done right now.

Trouble is, I just wasted 15 minuted sitting here with a cup of coffee trying to decide which to do first. Then I wasted a few more minutes posting here about my problems. A couple more excuses and I'll probably be able to procrastinate until bed time!
