Yep! We (Poland) will join EU today at midnight - only 12 hours left!
I’m hoping for a great party here in Warsaw – a lot of vodka will be drunk (drinking vodka is kind of polish tradition :))

grzepa: getting drunk today? :)

That class sounds really cool; we have read some books and such on many things concerning racism. It’s amazing how much racism is in TV and books and most just ignore it or don’t even think about it since “that’s how things are”

The class was fun but really difficult. I guess after 4 years of college English, they must run out of things to teach :) The first day we had to sign a statement that said we didn't mind talking about words like "fuck, cunt, motherfucker, cocksucker...etc." About 1/2 the class got up and walked out. But, that is where we learned that sooner or later, all words lose their "pejorative" meaning. My teacher was one of the guys portrayed on The West Wing. He was an amateur cartographer and had been fighting for the Peters Map back then and actually had a meeting with government officials. He knew that the map that is wrong will be in place for many years to come. He claimed it all had to do with racism. This was one of those classes where the text book was written by the professor teaching it.

Just on a side note, I almost became a High School English teacher. I taught it for about a year the same time I started working in this business. I remember having to break the news to my mother who by the way was an English teacher for over 40 years saying, "Mom, if you were making $200k/year working from home, would you still be teaching?" That was all it really took :) Besides...I know how to write, everything about sentence structure and literature but I am he worst speller I know :)

Speaking of which...if you are as bad a speller as I, grab this little piece of software. http://www.iespell.com/
It works with IE on any page and is FREE. I would be lost without it.

My spelling sucks too, especially after I smoke some wacky weed. |potleaf|

Macs have global spell check built in now, but I still use the system utility called SpellCatcher. Works on both Mac and Windows.

The English language just confuses me which is really strange since it is the only language that I speak.

Interesting Jim, I have an aunt who was an English Professor, but English was my most hated class.

I have always been a history and geography buff. To this day I LOVE looking at maps.

90% of the time I write out my post and put it in Word for spell check. So whatever is wrong is Bill's fault |jester|
