DarkJedi, you are free to do as you wish... as usual posts here...... are nothing more than advice.

Fact - I have sites/pages in Google at #1 that are PR 3 - so PR is not the only determinant

No one said PR had no value. - I said - "PR alone = NOTHING"

PR 6-7-8 will NOT garauntee you top spot in any SER, there are at least 10-100 other factors that will influence it's position

DD

I agree man.
PR alone is nothing.
And I never said it would guarantee a top placement.
Its just that i'm doing a lot of SEO work on my site and i'm also buying links to my site to help it out.

Now see the problem?

You have to remember that most webmasters are petty jealous bastards that would do something like this.

Jay, google get dozens of thousands abuse reports every day.
They dont take any action, but note them to improve their penalty filters.

They only hand-ban sites that are SUPER spammy and are hurting the engine.

Plus there's nothing illigal in what i do. I'm buying relevant links to a relevant site with cotent.

Yes, but there is an agruement that a link trade has some value to the surfer, such as guiding them to more sites with realated info - which is what SEs want anyways. They need links to crawl. Whereas, just buying links for SE purposes is just fim-flamming Google and they would crack down on that much sooner that link trades.

FYI: I like DarkJedi - he's one of my best submitters to my LL. He asked for advice I'm offering it. Not to mention:

1. The price
2. Are the people selling the link gonna be there tomorrow?
3. No matter how high the PR. Are the links relevant?
4. How many other people are they selling links to?

And much much more.

I appreciate your concern for me Jay :)
But i'm no noob. I wont buy overpriced links and I can tell a shitty site from a good site.

You see, i've been dooing it for a long time and i'm happy with the results. Thats why i'm doing it again.

Again i tell you that i'm not jsut buying PR links. I'm doing a lot of other search engine optimization on my site.

I've got about 100 domains that are 4 or higher - an extra $250k a month in my pocket would be nice too!

Many sites sell advertising spots, why don't you simply seek out some of these that have a PR you are looking for and negotiate a price. I am sure that they wouldnt be interested in your motivation for buying the spot (traffic, sales, PR)

Good luck :)

To me it didn't look like he was looking for a bunch of advice or criticism on his method.

Anyway, theres nothing wrong with buying links for pr purposes, google frowns upon it but they also say you shouldn't do anything to your site that you wouldn't do if search engines didn't exist. |jester|

Of course it doesn't mean everything but a clear benefit to having a high pr is much more frequent visits from the google bot.

Because adult sites don't openly advertise selling of text link. And the ones that do are well known high-traffic sites and a link there would cost a lot.

I know of a couple if you would like to hit me up on icq 1808 5615

They sell advertising spots... not sure if they are the target market you are looking for... but they have done well for me.

Maybe you could also just ask some LL's about advertising space... you never know :)
