Lousy host.

Some years ago when I was a green newbie I started to submit my galleries to Hun. I had no knowledge about bandwith and one day my host e-mailed me and asked $1,500 about overused BW.

It was a real bill, no error (that has happened to me too).

They didn't shut my account, they didn't billed my cc, just coolly told me. I'm sure that if I hadn't had money just then they had gave me time to pay it, but I had and paid it in same day. Thanks for Visa (as much as trouble we have had for it, though) and international pay software I have in my net bank account.

Strictly Hosting has been very good for me, and now as we old SH customers are in National Net good service continue. No referral, just satisfied customer.

I'm sorry to hear that. I also went over my bandwidth limit with the first gallery I built; my hosting company said I got over a million hits in a very short time (I submitted to AL4A, The Hun, and others... ). I was with a new, small host and they shut me down without even trying to contact me. This was about 1999.

I'd recommend RevShareHosting for anyone just getting their feet wet. There's no chance of that happening with THEM; they make their revenues from a percentage of sales, as long as you use the sponsors on their system. I'm using a combination of Revsharehosting and paid hosting, and I'm being very careful with the paid hosting.
