Yeah pretty sad huh? This is one for the ages.

I know it's never happen in NBA, but has it ever happen in the NHL? Being up 3-0 only to choke?

Poor ARod.... thought he had his ring.

cockNballs 2004-10-21 09:27 AM

its happened twice in the NHL

its one of the reasons I don't think a team has a home field advantage when it goes 2 - 3 - 2 sure they have 4 at home altogther but three n a row in Boston and Houston has put these series at 7 games

if it were 2 games in NY, 2 Games in Boston, then 1 - 1 - 1 the Yankees would have won 4 - 1in NY at game 5

same deal with Houston

but at this moment I love that format :-)

2-3-2 sucks, I miss the good old days of 2-2-1-1-1

cockNballs 2004-10-21 09:39 AM

if it were old school Torn, I believe we'd be watching a Cards Yankees series now

Tommy 2004-10-21 09:41 AM

we lost ?????

Ramster 2004-10-21 09:53 AM

I can't believe the Yankees lost after being up 3-0.

Torn, Jim is right. It has happened 2 times in the NHL. They said last night on TV it's like 2-125 and 0-78 for the NBA.

I did a little diggin', up 3-0 and lost:
1975 New York Islanders beat Pittsburgh Penguins quarter finals
1942 Toronto Maple Leafs beat Detroit Red Wings for the Stanley Cup

it's still 26 - 0 in championships since 1918 for us

this is just a little taste of what its like to be a Sox fan almost every single season :-)

I'm sure George will buy some pitching help next year

maybe Lowe and Pedro from Boston
