Oh... OK. I figured it was just one of the vBulletin hacks and the code was publically available. It probably shouldn't be too hard to code though. Guess I have a little project :)

Every time I see my name in a thread now I have to log out to make sure it really does say my name.

It's probably not that much different than the variable that would be used in the 'Welcome YourUserName' part of the board. Maybe you could bind a tag to it. Look through the code and see where tags (like [ QUOTE] are defined and play with it.
This is my guess (I haven't looked at this board's source before).

Change it to something people wont guess to keep your regular users from using it. :)

BTW, those of you taht think you have it figured out, if you're not one of the priveledged few, it just substitutes the code with the username of the person that used the code, not the username of the person viewing!
