The proper way to do it is to get your business bank account added to your ePassporte account & transfer the funds that way.

Cleo,

You might want to use the transfer to a US Bank Account rather than the ATM -- at least that way you have a paper trail.

If you take it out at the ATM, you need to save that receipt and record it in your accounting as a separate accounting entry of cash in/cash out.

troy 2005-04-28 03:26 PM

Definitely Epassporte

Why do I bother posting here?

stuveltje 2005-04-28 05:12 PM

some does do less for bankwire ike ccbill 100 (but then 25 cost) extreme paycheck 200 cost 25 , guerilla i believe 600 cost 20 bucks(not bad if you think i pay more for an 100 check in holland) still epassporte is the best:D

MadMax 2005-04-28 05:17 PM

I'll take checks every time. That way if there's an error I have a document in my hand and not just a string of numbers in a transaction ID. It also forces me to take notice of who pays on time and who doesn't. The fees do piss me off though.

No - to me it's just another step in the process. You'll never have every sponsor paying via ePassporte, so I have to take the money from there & put it where it belongs - I'm doing that with checks anyway, so this does technically add another step. That & there are limits as far as the amounts & whatnot, which might interfere with me transferring large amounts to my regular bank account, not to mention the fees that come with the transfers on each end.

Sorry - I just don't remember anyone asking for info on ePassporte - let alone a book on the subject. If Storm Pay had come by & posted the same thing I'd have told them off too. We're not like very other board in the world & I like it that way.

Lunatic 2005-04-28 06:32 PM

The only thing I don't like about epassporte is the $2.00 charge most, but not all, sponsors charge. But I still like epassporte the best. :)

Why are you so sure about it? Maybe it will not be ePassporte, but I bet that every sponsor WILL offer some kind of instant payments based on Visa/MC cards in the near future. Simply because it costs them almost nothing and because a lot of (especially non-US) webmasters demand it.

As in every industry, competition will lower prices.

MrYum 2005-04-28 10:35 PM

I'm in the gimme a check camp...paper trail...and I just like getting em in the mail box :)

One Australia based sponsor pays me by wire...which is fine too...my corp bank sends notification of the deposit every month...still got a paper trail.

Epassporte is great for some things, buying content and such...but as of yet...I don't process any affiliate payments through it...

1st off, you're thinking that even more of these cards/services would be a good thing? How many accounts do you need? LOL Let's say CCBill released one - that's another service that would cause yet another step in the process & another fee. (and that's not even mentioning that it still takes a couple days to get money transfered from the online account to your normal bank account, if I remember correctly)

I only have PayPal because it's easier to make payments for some mainstream stuff & I only have ePassporte because some sponsors can't or won't cut US checks for one reason or another.

2nd, how many sponsors pay instantly besides Flash Cash? And, in all reality, how desperate are you for money that you need it in your account 15 minutes after the sale? The instant payment is a novelty to most people.

If ePassporte actually was what I was personally told it was going to be & be able to do 2+ years ago when it was released, that'd be a different story - it does have it's uses & I'm sure it's wonderful to most people, it's just not what I want with every sponsor because of the extra steps it forces to me do in order to keep proper records.

Sure it will be a good thing. Contest is always good thing for a customer. There will be probably similar situation like in credit card sector. Not monopoly, but also not 50 of such a companies.

Well, sorry, I did not express myself correctly enough. By instant payment I mean payments, when I will receive money within a few moments from the moment when someone would send them. Instant signup is a nice feature, but if all of sponsors would do them it will be very hard to keep overview of them.

I fully understand all of nostalgic posts in this thread. When I have received my first check (and it was from adult, because in Europe the checks are not so common like in US) it was very nice. Trust me or not, there was even my name on it :)

I also, GG, understand some of your reasons why someone would not use ePassporte. Nothing is perfect. Well, maybe some express wire transfer done straightforward to your regular bank account anywhere on the globe within one minute, with costs $0.1 per transaction? :D Lets get surprised.

grzepa 2005-04-29 04:19 AM

I love the way epassporte works...

Jel 2005-04-29 06:29 AM

Looks like *most* non-US/Canadian webmasters prefer epassporte from what I can see?

HappySmut 2005-04-29 06:37 AM

i like checks because they give me something to rub on my belly when the old people in the bank stare at me...

Lori_Anderson 2005-04-29 02:10 PM

I prefer checks :)

Robbo 2005-04-29 03:49 PM

I like checks. No cost to me to cash or deposit, a paper trail, not having to give out my bank info and I can walk to the bank branch and choke the manager if I so choose.

Get an ePassporte Personal Account - Either go to https://www.epassporte.com/ and get one, or find a sponsor that will give you one. You can get a Virtual account issued to you within minutes.

Tell your sponsors that you wish to be paid by ePassporte and give them your ePassporte account username. That is all they need. -- You can use the same ePassporte account with each sponsor you promote.

Sponsors will push payments onto your account on their usual schedule.

BUT...............

-> You get your payment instantly. No waiting for mail, no lost mail, no worry about the check clearing, no updating your address with sponsor.

-> You receive your money at no cost to you (unlike PayPal who takes a fee for receiving the money for you).

-> You can shop online and spend your money with your Virtual Visa.

-> You can add an Electron Card to your account and pull cash from ATM's or shop at your favorite stores.

-> You can send money to any other ePassporte account holder instantly, anywhere in the world, for less than the cost of a stamp. (P2P)

-> You have a documented transaction history online so that you can print out for your records.

-> You can increase your limits based on your particular needs.

-> US account holders may transfer funds to their US bank account.

-> No Internet access? No problem! You can check your balance, transfer funds, or re-load your account from your mobile phone.

Cheaper than wires, faster than checks. The Power of Visa.

How many more reasons do you really need?

Write to me if you have questions. Rand @ ePassporte .com

Well said, Rand. In my opinion, epassporte is by far, second to none. Except for maybe beer and blowjobs. :D

You get a Visa number that you can use for online purchases.

If I still lived in the UK I would probably have voted for epassporte. The problem with checks as we both know is the time it takes to get them to the UK and the fees charged by the banks to process them.

Now of course the bigger problem is the horrendous exchange rate...... :(

Kenny B! 2005-05-03 11:38 AM

I much prefered getting paid by check, but since we recently started offering epassporte as a payment method, I like to have that account funded by other sponsors:-)

punker barbie 2005-05-03 02:57 PM

I think checks are good.
Most of my affiliates also prefer checks, i get the occasional request for paypal or wire which is fine. What ever works best for the affiliate.

I prefer epasport payment

kalle7 2005-05-11 08:05 AM

I dont sign up or push any sponsors that dont have epassporte (Except from CCBill). As a non-us webmaster the check option costs way to much for me to be a real option. For me it costs about $ 30,- to get it into my account and that is a waste of money.

As mentioned earlier in this post I also hope that CCBill will soon offer epassporte payments cause wire/checks are outdated in my opnion cause of the high costs. Just changed my CCBill account from weekly wires to monthly wires and will probably change that also to monthly checks cause wires even cost more than checks. To bad that a company like CCBill is still not offering the solutions for the future.
