Talleyrand
Seriously, a good start for you is to not start every post with "Dear xxxx" and ending it with

"Best regards,

TALLEYRAND"

rscott 2005-12-14 09:31 AM

Still not convinced, the avitar the post in general if you look at the history of the "other" guy, I'm thinkng its a dup, I see enough of it on the travel boards i frequent

Talleyrand 2005-12-14 10:59 AM

Jim

Seriously: I do not understand why the people here is angry with me for to write: "Dear xxx" and " Best regards" (or Yours sincerely). I thinked that was good.
May be, someone will give an answer.

The reason is simple. You are not writting a letter or email to someone on the board. You are trying to talk to them.

Jim 2005-12-14 11:06 AM

When you talk to someone in person do you talk like that?

Talleyrand 2005-12-14 11:13 AM

HOLA!

Jim, must I try to write here like in a chat (not email)?

That looks/reads much better to me. :D

Yahook 2005-12-14 11:38 AM

I was always thinking that the main reason of language is to communicate with people. If people can even hardly understand what you want to say - it's already better than nothing. Kind people are always tolerant to foreigners, even if their language skills are not so good. Each language contains special phrases that you can't find in any dictionary or study at local university. The only way to study it - to communicate with people as more as possible.

Talleyrand 2005-12-14 11:43 AM

Hi, Surfn. Sometime few good words (like the little post of Jim) are better than a lot of bad words.
Bye,

LMAO Um perhaps it's time to travel some and test out your theory. If you have never been an English speaking person in France trying to speak their language you don't know what rude is!
(no offense to French people, I don't wanna get the rep of playing the racist card and starting another war!)

RawAlex 2005-12-14 11:54 AM

This thread has some dissolute pidor issues and needs less sex actions.

I once said merci (thankyou) to a waiter in France, he snapped back at me with "DONT SPEAK FRENCH!"
I wasn't offended, it was pretty funny.

I was fortunate enough to go to a restaurant in Canada with Canadians and the waiter kept telling Stupid American jokes. I was offended. I ended up calling this waiter in an upscale restaurant a stupid cocksucker.

Jim 2005-12-14 12:47 PM

Nope...back then my name that I called people was a cocksmoker. Is there any wonder why I have problems with Canada? :)

RawAlex 2005-12-14 12:56 PM

Yeah, we don't allow smoking indoors anymore as a result.

EXPENSIVE SIRS:

4 exactly I want to thank each for amusing threads. This board must make threads of the tool of upper part. You will marry Christmas, also, happy New Year.

gobgook2 2005-12-14 05:52 PM

That was my favorite part of Canada. Timmy's on every corner. The McDonald's up there are like mini-ghost towns. I try to get up there often enough to bring back some coffee and keep my TH mojo goin' LOL

Jim - I too encountered some of that Anti-American humour (note spelling) whilst visiting friends in Simcoe Ontario. I will forever be known there as the "Stupid Yankee" haha I took it as a compliment... which probably just solidified the nickname further...

I would say this is an exclusion. Usually the French don't speak english.

Um perhaps you and Tally need to travel together! Children in France are being taught a second language before they are in high school and many if not most of them choose English.

Actually we are talking about different things. Lots of them know english but they don't want to use it. Even if your french is not too good - the most part of them will be tolerant with you.

They take care of their traditions too much. But only few of them (those who have very low intelligence) are big racists.

I'm just amused my the fact that so many people don't understand that "cocksucker" is a term of endearment.

Tallyrand - shut the fuck up.

Yahook - go the fuck away.

Me Tarzan. You Cocksucker.

Talleyrand 2005-12-15 02:23 PM

Hi chabon.

I'm just amused my the fact that so many people don't understand that "chabon dejate de jorobar" is a term of endearment.

Useless cocksucker: dejate de jorobar
Other cocksucker: dejense de jorobar tambien.

Now, go to the dictionary and tell me if is it easy to translate literally what I told you above. You will watch that there is not bad words in it.
To understand a coloquial language is not so easy chabon.

Hasta la vista chabon.

Dingleberry, I wouldn't waste my time attempting to translate anything written in a foreign tongue. You just aren't worth the aggravation. It takes a lot to insult me, btw.

Many of them won't speak to you in english even if you don't french and they do know english.

They don't like americans. You have to say you're from Canada |angry|

Talleyrand 2005-12-15 04:32 PM

Hi!

1. I do not want to insult you, or other.
2. I do not know what is Dingleberry, and I do not understand your second sentence.
3. I only want that you and other here will understand that it is not the same to understand the formal english that to understand the coloquial english, because I think that if you and other understand the difference, may be you, and other that think like you, will be a more humility.

For the people with more curiosity that you:
Chabon = Guy
Jorobar = Displease
Chabon dejate de jorobar = Guy, do not displease to me

Hasta la vista uw.
(I want to think that you know what is this. May be you are the only person in this board that did not watched Terminator II)
