X BIZ is just a few weeks after Vegas. I'll buy the first round |cheers|

MrMaryLou 2006-10-09 12:51 PM

Why does it seem that each year the show gets smaller and the prices get higher? Come on AVN!!! Wake up! I think it maybe to late :(

chadknowslaw 2006-10-10 12:23 AM

A low-priced badge boosts model attendance which makes the show a happier place ;-) and having a bar where everyone can hang out is a great idea, but if it is on the show floor and only open during show floor hours that will be a candidate for an Edsel Award.

I forgot I had a dentist appointment yesterday.
They are drilling out my old fillings and replacing them with new ones.
(ouch)

Hopefully I'll talk with her today.

LOL, great analogy. I preferto go to webmaster access in LA and the phoenix forum. Nothing personal aginst AVN but if I'm going to budget for a few shows a year I have to make sure they will be the most productive possible.

Live and learn, luckily I got out cheap, thank the lord for that |bow|

I don't think I'll do that again, but I am planning a trip to Vegas with my g/f after the LA show, so ya never know! |banghead|

So it sounds like no one is going to the Vegas show this year...

It's been a while since i've gone to any of the shows. I was thinking about going to a few this year... What are the good ones to hit these days?

I think there will be a lot of us in Vegas, but only aobut 50% will have AVN Badges - IMHO they're not worth the $250.

XBiz's summer show in Vegas was great. They are having one in LA right after the Super Bowl (I can't go due to prior plans)

Dr Bizzaro 2006-10-11 04:53 PM

Just a followup to the phone call.

We've missed each other for a few days. Then she had to go out of town yesterday and today. She'll be back in town tomorrow I hope to have that phone conversation by Friday.

Anyone else have anything to add before my call.

I will be bringing up the following:

- Poor webmaster and booth turnout on last years floor.
- Price of badges this year.
- The poor feedback about the Miami show
- Webmasters that are going, yet not going to buy badges
- The fact that they are excluding the small and medium size webmasters. (And a lot of the larger ones, so I am finding out.)
- The lack-luster seminars and workshops. (So I have heard.)

Anything else anyone want to add?

docholly 2006-10-11 06:33 PM

Maybe you should start by saying a thank you for changing the dates to after CES and moving it back to the Mandalay so that there are more choices for people hotel wise. THEN hit her with the "punch" list

Crazy Carlos 2006-10-11 07:12 PM

i don't think that i should comment right now I AM ON TOO MUCH BEER

but i am going this year again (next that is) but i don't get it what they want to do with the new format

But then again i will be drunk and talk abou biz and get some good deal i hope so i don't give a ....... whats that word

i love funny and cute words so fillin that work your self.

hahahahaha

Ramster 2006-10-11 07:41 PM

I think Mandalay is a bad choice. Venetian offers many choices for hotels around it and a better bar setup with the circle bar. We'll see how this goes but I remember 2 years ago the Mandalay Bay show was by far the worst I've ever been to. With no circle bar hangout to find people and mingle and do some serious business people mostly went their own way. I hope that's not the case this year.

Greenguy 2006-10-11 07:48 PM

But Ramster! There's a NEW "Circle Bar" |couch|

I also think someone needs to go back to GFY or Wasted Webmasters :D

nekrom 2006-10-11 11:26 PM

Ask AVN how much the badge prices are going to be next year, that's even if there is a show next year. The answer should be good for a laugh.

Oh yeah you are right .. tho i do remember we all met at that island bar in the middle of the Mandalay. I was just thinking on the Venetian @ 300 a night Harrah/TI at 200 vs alternatives at Luxor for 120 and Excalibur for under 100.00
