Best wishes on a speedy recovery. Still going through something very similar so i know what a struggle it will be.

FanTC 2007-01-30 10:06 PM

Oh damn. All the Best to TPat.
Chop can you get an address of where to send flowers or cards?

Chop Smith 2007-01-30 10:40 PM

Update from Vivian

Pat is in intensive care he will be there a few more days and then moved to another room. He will be in from 5 to 10 days. They are giving him medication to thin the blood. He was on oxygen last night but not today. The doctor wants to put a stint in his upper leg to open the vines it hurts him when he breaths. He said to tell you don't worry that he is not dying and that he will be back soon.
Those that want his address, please PM me.

Hope you get well soon TPat...

FanTC 2007-01-31 09:24 AM

After we got hammered by Katrina, Pat was kind enough to help us out, so I'm going on the old addage that "what comes around goes around".

I'll be sending a little get well plant today to brighten spirits a bit and as soon as Chop gets paypal info, I'm going to do what I can there too.

I urge anyone that can to do the same. You never know when bad things will happen, but when they do, it feels good to know that someone out there really does give a damn.

docholly 2007-01-31 09:50 AM

I agree with FanTC... you just never know and TP is really one of our own.

Update from Vivian

They are preparing to move Pat out of ICU into a room. I am a little confused by Vivian's message, but it looks like he will have to recover from this before they do surgery. If that is the case he might be home in five days if all goes well and then would have to return to the hospital for surgery.

He ain't out of the woods yet but things look a bit brighter.

emmanuelle 2007-01-31 01:24 PM

I've heard that Chop needs to brush up on his Spanish- anybody out there that can help him?

Chop Smith 2007-01-31 01:55 PM

Saturday, I learned that 'cochino' means a disgusting pig. Vegas must have been rough unless you were a fart smeller.

Greenguy 2007-01-31 03:01 PM

I did feel bad for Vivian in Vegas - I think our comfort level with each other while partying in Linkster's suite kinda freaked her out a bit |fart|

papagmp 2007-01-31 10:21 PM

Best wishes from Colorado - get well!

Simon IA Cash 2007-02-01 09:41 AM

Good luck for good health. Hope to see you back soon.

jennym 2007-02-01 01:53 PM

Man, that sucks. Unfortunately, I know how his poor wife feels. Having a spouse in the hospital, and fearing the outcome is a horrible experience. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Tart 2007-02-01 04:38 PM

Ohhh missed this when I checked in earlier.. Hope Tpat feels better soon. I only saw him and the missus briefly as I was leaving Vegas and they were arriving :(

Chop Smith 2007-02-07 04:34 PM

I chatted with Vivian. TPat is at home but confined to bed as something has happened to his back and he has trouble walking. He has to get over that and the blood clot and then will return to the hospital for surgery.

MrYum 2007-02-07 04:43 PM

Glad to hear he's home Chop :)

Really hope his recovery, surgery and recovery again is as smooth as possible.

digifan 2007-02-07 04:50 PM

I am so sorry to hear that, missed the thread earlier fighting this stubborn flu. I wish him a lot of patience and a healthy recovery ;)

Emerald 2007-02-07 05:34 PM

Not good news .. Hope he has a speedy recovery and rejoins us soon as he can.

SheepGuy 2007-02-07 05:46 PM

Glad to hear he's home, that part is good news at least.

kaktusan 2007-02-07 08:04 PM

thanks for the news Chop.

I hope Tpat will get well soon.

Best wishes for a full recovery Pat

I thank you all for the warm wishes and love expressed in this thread, to be honest with you I find it a little embarrassing and it makes me feel very emotional.
I had bilateral pulmonary embolisms, the first time I recall hearing of a pulmonary embolism was in 2003 when David Bloom the NBC journalist that was embedded with the 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq had one. I remember thinking when he had his that it was a very unsexy but painless way to die. I was only half right it feels just like getting your ribs kicked in. The drugs were great so I really wasn’t worried about anything, but was told after I got out of ICU that I’m very lucky that I didn’t die or have a massive stroke.
FanTC, MajStress and everyone else involved thanx for the plant, I really appreciate the gesture.
Chop I am very privileged to be able to count you among my friends the ICQ’s between you and my wife helped her get through this ordeal more than you will ever know.
To add insult to injury I threw my back out right before they released me from the hospital but that’s ok they sent me home with plenty of pain pills.
So anyway this cat’s still got a few lives left, I’m ok now and I’ll get back into the swing of things soon and y’all need to get back to work :D

SheepGuy 2007-02-09 02:52 PM

Great to hear your feeling better!! Man, you've got a lot of friends here :D
