Back on topic.
Nice to see that the US is not letting all those guns go to waste.

Honestly, no matter what weapon I have in hand, whether it be a pistol or a kitchen chair, if someone breaks into my home while myself and/or family are here, I'm not going to waste time on sizing up that person's intentions - I'm going to open up my mini-sized can of whoop-ass and see if I can break a bone or two before they either flee or kill me and rape my sleeping dogs. I'd much rather shoot my appliances as a stern warning than take the life of someone who wanted to steal my 10 year-old VCR or broken DVD player. (They better not touch that XBox 360! My son would kill them.)

If I witnessed someone unlawfully entering my neighbors' homes, well, that's just too bad for them. I'd call the police and probably hit the panic alarms on our cars to sort of let them know that a pussy like me is watching them from his dead-bolted house next-door. I'm not going to look for a tangle with television thieves who aren't harming anyone except the insurance company.

If the g'ment outlawed all firearms tomorrow, I wouldn't care and I'm not paranoid enough to believe that all of us/we semi-law-abiding citizens would be gathered up by gun-toting crack dealers and shot. I also don't care if they remain legal. I'm not one who cares about the true intention of this alleged Right to Bear Arms because most of the gun owners I know, excluding PapaGMP ;), are uber-patriots and believe every word that drips out of Bush's idiotic flapping cunt. The only way those people are going to revolt against the government is if religion, tobacco and sex with your sister is outlawed - or perhaps if an intelligent, well-spoken black man becomes president. But what's the chance of that happening?

Hell - I'm not paranoid - never carry mine even though I have a carry permit. My German wife was a completive hand-gunner and her dad trained the police in the German state of Saarland on proper handgun use. He was the only German civilian I ever knew that had a carry permit. But nothin gets a bugler out of your house quicker that a hissing radiator on the back of a dieing fridge.

And I don't give a fuck if they ban tobacco but I feel sorry for the church-fucks that try to ban me from having sex with your sister....... :D

Where it really gets scary is the great folk in charge here in Texas decided that a "man's castle" extends to his vehicle. Now out here in the country, that isn't so bad because kids are taught to properly handle firearms when they are old enough. But in the city?? Puts a new wrinkle into road rage.

The thieves are the ones who chose to break into the property, they are the ones who chose to break the law. There is a very good wrap-up of this particular case on the Houston Examiner's website. Texas law does allow us to protect our property, especially if we feel we are in danger. It also allows us to protect our neighbors. Now, it allows us to carry weapons in vehicles.

Do I like these laws? Not necessarily. But... if you intend to trespass or break into someone's home, don't do it in Texas. Take your criminal ways elsewhere, please.

I was raised around guns, my grandpa had his own fucking armory. He was a gun collector, so I've shot some pretty sweet guns. I recently shot a '44 M1 Carbine, which was a WW2 combat weapon. People in my family and everyone I know with guns has them as a historical collection, uses them to hunt with, and some have a handgun locked away for protection in their night stand or in the glovebox in their cars. I've personally had a gun pulled on me when I confronted a scrawny druggie peice of shit about stealing a CD player out of my car, and the little fucker pointed a gun at me, not a very nice experience. Personally the way I see it if guns are made illegal then the only people carrying guns are criminals. But to get back on topic, yes I've heard of people actually using guns sucessfully for protection. The people I know that have guns for protection never ever dream of having to use them, but have them just in case. I know if some bastard ever tried robbing my little old grandma that bastard would be in for a rude awakening.
