$6000 per month, Part 2

Thanks everyone for the comments, over 1000 people viewing the tread.

Lots of good comments/advise/warnings.

First off it seems that working in porn has got a lot harder than it used to be. I first started in internet porn back in 1997, and made decent money promoting things like the pam and tommy tape and Ultrahardcore. I dropped it back then because my other businesses took off and I lost a lot of sites when Ultra closed the free host.

Anyway it seems to me that building and submitting free sites to the likes of Tommy is going to be the best way to go, and boosting this with occassional MGP posting/paid spots (seems like most of the big guys want paying these days)

And then link all the free sites into my own mgp/linklist/blog/etc to build up a network of sites for the SE to hit.

I currently have over 4K pages listed on google and 1250 on yahoo, so I should be able to build that into something more.

Got a cheque from Adultbouncer yesterday and bought 3 more domains. Anyone else promoting Adultbouncer? Don't see too many mentions of them on the boards.

Cheers

Pstar

Quick is within 3/4 months and as I'm in the UK $6,000 is only just over £3,000. |angry|

Not trying to do anything to the competition. Seriously, how will someone make $6K a month if their site is not the next MilfHunter or they have 1000 webmasters ready to promote it? $6K is 16 sales a day, try that as a newbie with no affilaites or partner accounts anywhere. hehehe
You don't have to have any affiliates to make a good chunk of change (e.g. quiet @ GFY for the perfect example).

A close business partner of mine opened his own paysite about a year ago, and is making more than double digits in sales daily with a dozen or so affiliates.

It takes knowledge, perseverance and most of all, creativity/originality.

Rocco 2005-04-18 07:55 AM

wow, didn't know you got so much experience already - but I think from my point of few that it's still very hard to make a 6k$/month

Jeka 2005-04-18 08:28 AM

6k / month is not that hard to make. Of course a newbie (everybody who has started after 2003 / in 2004 is a newbie in my opinion) will probably not achive that but if you have enough of experience and can work 8 hours per day constantly then you should hit that pretty fast.

If you can invest about $3000-4000 then start a tgp with hosted galleries only, buy 100k's of traffic and grow it to 500k / day.
With the right scripts, trades, content it should be doable in 1 month :)

JanTM 2005-04-18 08:37 AM

Promoting per signup sponsors its only 6-7 sales a day. 7x$30 = $210 a day - for 30 days = more than $6k.

It doesn't sound all that impossible to me - not that I am doing it myself *LOL*
Of course if you're a newbie and you can't get listed... then thats a different story :)

Ramster 2005-04-18 08:43 AM

Joe
I agree 100%. I was talking about a newbie doing it. With no gallery experience (we assume this guy has none) it is near impossible. Could he do it in a few months? 6 months? Probably if he read, learned and applied himself. Otherwise he'd just be another newbie with a paysite waiting for google to miracously start sending him 1000's of hits a day. hehe

I'd love to have a paysite pulling in what quiet does. :D

Remember we're talking about a newbie here. Anyone one of the boards members hear who are not making $4K-$6K a month should be building more. Build more again. And build more again and submit submit submit. Like JanTM said, it's only 6-7 sales a day ;)

Ramster 2005-04-18 08:46 AM

Ok so you have some experience? Want to make $6K is simple. Be ready to buy some gallery accounts. Build 2 galleries every day and submit them. Build a free site EVERY day and submit it. Pick and choose your sponsors carefully. Do not promote the same one. Pick 5-6 sponsors to push so you are not submitting for the same sponsor daily. You need to buy a bit of content too but that is cheap. Weed out the bad sponsor and add a new one.

Greenguy 2005-04-18 08:51 AM

I merged the 2 threads (no need to start a new one when the old one is still going strong)

Pstar 2005-04-18 11:31 AM

Sample Galleries

Got some hosting sorted out a webair, they seem to be well recommended, and the tech support is good.

Post a couple of sample galleries here

http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...d.php?p=153612

Would you list them?

Starting a fake MGP sounds interesting.

Cheers

Tommy said some very valuable things.

This thread has got me all excited. At last year's London boat show I saw a yacht I wanted but could not afford. So now you guys have sorted out Pstar's money problem, can you tell me how I can make a couple of million dollars before this year's boat show ? :D

Some great info here for sure, thanks Tommy, Ramster and others for the nice tips |shake|

esteve 2005-04-19 04:13 AM

6k Canadian is my goal, hopefully I can surpass that.

seven 2005-04-19 09:43 AM

so it's possible to make 6k/month but not if you are a newbie |hammer

Cleo 2005-04-19 09:46 AM

Very possible. Working really hard each day, a bit of luck, refining your sales and graphic skills, and networking should get you there, did for me anyway. :)

Kenny B! 2005-04-19 10:26 AM

Work hard and smart and you can reach the $6k a month goal... if you work 8 hours a day you need to put in more hours, nothing comes easy!

All depends on how smart you are. Seriously. There are webmasters that come along and submit a free site every 2 days and build nothing else. Or someone pushes the same sponsor over and over again that is not converting well.

Be smart. Know you have to work hard. Build ALL the time. As already said being smart means learning how to refine your design and selling skills.

A newbie could be making $6K within a few months if they did things right.

BlueQuartz 2005-04-21 03:02 PM

you wont be making 6k a month so dont worry about it

juggernaut 2005-04-21 11:26 PM

Hello I'm new to the board and just wanted to say thanks. This is my first night here and my cam site goes live in 1 week. I truly know I am a newbe here but have learned plenty just from reading this post. I know I'm not running a tgp or anything like that but the concept is still the same. Make money on the net. But anyway just wanted to say thanks.. Jugg

Even more could be made if part of it wasn't wasted on content.

When the affiliate programs give you free content, why buy?

Because unless you know the market very well you'll end up with over used affiliate content, won't be able to get partner accounts and won't get listed by many other places.

If you treat it like a new business venture then I think a newbie can make that kind of money but not next month. 3 to 4 months may be unlikely but not impossible. it will take some serious hard work and sacrifice to reach your goals.

I would suggest that you plan on giving up your hobbies until you reach your goals. Your new hobbies will be reading boards, studing traffic sources, graphics, learning new software, asking questions and trying new things.

Before you get started get rid of all distractions so that your mind is clear. That means if you have some financial issues that are distracting you, find a way to put them on hold. That hot babe/guy you want to date, make them part of your life now or forget about her. Friends that interfere with your day, block them out for a little while. Anything that takes you away for more then a day should be forgotten.

Once you're mentally and emotionally ready to work your ass off to reach your goals, then you can do it. Until then you're wasting your time.

When you start, wake up everry morninf and review what you did and learned the day before. Then make a "To Do" list. Review that list a few times a day and when you finish work for the day.

Stay organised, stay focused and you just might be able to do it. Keep us posted.

I've been trying to resist asking this, but what's the significance of $6,000 per month? Had I asked this question, I think I would have said $5,000, but maybe I'm not ambitious enough. :)

It is a bit of an odd number isn't it? LOL Usually someone ask $5K or $10K.
