And I'm one of them ;)

But really what I would suggest is mobile content. PSP & iPod porn is the rage right now - and the cool thing is that this isn't really a niche, but rather a brand new way to distribute / sell porn. I've had 3 or 4 webmaster sign up the last couple of days who are building iPod Porn / Porn Podcast sites.

So instead of answering the question or even attempting to stay on topic, you push your program. Nice.

Why is your board English so much better than the crap on your tour? Honest question.

UW, your idea is based in your recent personal experience?:D

I'm always up for the next sick fetish. Heaven will weep one day when I've got the resources to start a program :D

I'd really like to stick to just one niche so that I could really do it well - spend all of my content dollars in that one area, focus on building niche traffic hubs etc. But when it comes to picking the niche I find it hard to figure out the balance between what is underrepresented on the net (or even if there are a lot of sites, but they're done really poorly) & what is a popular enough niche to make it worthwhile.

I could have the BEST Asian BBW foot fetish site on the market, but if the market for that site is too small, I would've been better off having an almost unheard of teen site.

Other than overture search results, how do you do market research to determine how popular a niche is?

Who's making bling with midgets ?
I wonder if this is one of them ?

You *could* create an adwords ad and target some keywords that you're THINKING of building a site for. See how many click through. Even if you link to a page with just information on it, the point is to see how many factually DO search and click..

That's an interesting idea. Maybe I should do a thread & keep track of my progress.

Yeah :) You could also do an opt-in if people would like to be notified when the site is live or something. I know I know, emailing & adult is not a simple subject, but again, it is market research that you're really after. You could just toss the email addresses in the recycle bin.

Once you get comfortable with a niche, you can move on to another. Just spend some time reasearching it. Read about it, even lurk on user boards.

MadMax and KCat:
One place that I always seem to find new niches is on TV. Even some mainstream shows like CSI have covered niches like Domination, Trannies, Biting, P&F, etc. There are also some specialty TV shows on satelite.

Also the smaller the niche, the better the conversions.

I used to do really well converting Menstrual, back before Bloody Trixie got screwed out of her payment processing capability. Not too much traffic, but it converted like gold.

Seems every program has the same old thing. Getting dull. Won't be long before surfers are bored with it also. I say a good bet is something we have seen, real amatuer sites.

Thats one of the reasons I started Strange Attractor. It has a *lot* of niche categories and I can spot what folk are clicking on from the records produced by my script. As a tip, if you look at the irritating moving strip of thumbs above the links they are in order the top 30 clicked links (ignoring aging algorythm) on the site, leftmost is the top one. Currently it has too few visitors to be truly representative though hence me getting other votes from this forum!
