Very surprising for sure! Sorry to hear your leaving the biz, also about your recent illness. Glad to hear your better!

Don't blame you for going elsewhere, been doing the same myself. Once it replaces my adult income, who knows..

Very best of luck, I'm sure you'll do great..:)

You were the friendliest person to work with and thankyou for all the tips you've given me on FS.

Wish you the best of luck.

The more I keep bumping into this thread the more sad I seem to get :(

I wonder who will be the next to be forced out?

Google, of course, is one of the big forces causing this kind of thing.

I figure it's going to be an interesting year.

It's too bad FPP is going to another distant "seo" guy. We've all seen what happens to small-to-medium sized linklists that have suffered that fate in the past two years.

Sure makes you wonder about google, seems to be tougher everyday. Or the need to work on different linking ideas. For me, adult is so different than mainstream, hence part of the problem. Just my opinion.

I don't think it is always being forced out, for me, just more work and less profit nowdays, adult that is.

I'd say the way to give up in this biz or take a side line and start a real life job or another biz is to keep all your sites and risk a 2257 inspection, cause imo that's a million to 1 chance, unless your right on the edge of some questionable content and your loose about it...

that only works if you have a decent number of free sites and/or galls

say 300 to 400 sites galls with most getting targeted se traffic from yahoo or msn or even google.... is a decent side income

I know for a fact no matter how much your making from a LL or any kind of hub your se traffic can go away and along with it your income...

and if you do get lucky and hit some nice se traffic to a hub type site - dont stop building, building is your bread and butter

or unless you have a bunch of se domains, even then you should still have some opt - other peoples traffic - listings

I know I know building sucks from time to time, but I've seen it to many times before - example - you have a few years under your belt and your doing your thing and no sales are happening, so what do you do? stop? no!! you change tackle and recast and then still no sales, so now what? keep going some sometimes the last 2 - 3 - 4 days of the month or first period you can make 600 700 800 dollars in sales...

but if you gave up in that slow period then you didnt have that traffic built up to make those sales

so what I am saying is don't delete or turn off your hosting if things are not going good, and if you need cash just sell off your LL's and try and keep your free sites and galls

Wow, sorry I missed this thread. Always sad to hear about someone leaving the business.. especially when its someone who gave back so much. I never had the pleasure of dealing with you but nonetheless wish you all the best in your future.

Word travels fast in this biz...lol

After several conversations over the past 24 hours, Captain Sparrow has made me an offer I can't refuse, so looks like I'll be joining his team :D

I'll be doing my geek thing as well, but it would appear that I'll still be bouncing around these parts too |thumb

Again, thanks very much for all the kind words folks...it's really greatly appreciated :)

Greenguy 2007-05-04 01:30 PM

I was just being silly, but if you're back, that's great news |thumb

Torn Rose 2007-05-04 01:34 PM

Cleo 2007-05-04 01:40 PM

Does this mean that I can't have your parking space now?

Zio 2007-05-04 01:43 PM

Late as usual...

Well: first I was sad cause u were going... Now it looks like u'll still be around... I'm glad MrYum!!!

And lemme just take this opportunity to let u know that your advice has always been invaluable to me! Hell, it's the reason I am now able to get my FSs accepted! So I'll always be grateful for that!

Take care of your health cause that's the only thing that matters - along with family of course!

I wish u all the best!

Hi Mr Yum,

whatever happened to you, I am too tired to read the whole thread, sorry but I am seeing the happy end, that's good. I'm just stuck here with myself and sister's bad luck, excuse me and keep your chin up :)

Such an emotional roller coaster LOL
Welcome back :D

MrYum 2007-05-04 10:19 PM

Yea...sorry for the bouncy ride everyone :(

I REALLY didn't think there was anything that could be said or done to keep me in this business. But, sometimes offers come to the table that couldn't be foreseen...this is just such an occassion.

I've got an opportunity to work with folks I've known and respected for a long time, while completely eliminating my own monthly outlay...and still work the geek business. It's all good |thumb

We'll have to make that happen Torn :)
