Thank you again everyone. We got some bad news yesterday that I really don't want to go into too much. Needless to say, we will be staying home for a while at least. :(

Best wishes to you both.

Cancer has to be everyones biggest fear and hearing about people who have beaten it is always a good thing to see.

I hope in the near future, this will be one we'll hear about.

Best of luck Jim & mrs Jim.

DAMN DAMN DAMN!

I am so sick to hear about cancer! Everyone gets it!
I hope and I am pretty sure Victoria, the kids and you will get thru this!

I am not a "real" regular here but trust me, I feel for you, I really do.

My wife was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with cancer. It appears that we are going to the National Cancer Institute in the very near future for a clinical trial. The upside of going there is that as far as I know, there is not a better place to be treated. And the Doctor/Patient ratio is about 1 to 1. The downside is we have to move there during treatment. We have no idea if we will be able to go there just for treatment and be able to come home or if we have to stay the entire time. Either way, I am going to be scarce.

No matter what, I am bringing my laptop and my entire PC. There are certain things that I have to do no matter what is going on. Paying bills being one of them. :)

As for my lovely wife, Victoria...if she didn't tell you she was sick, you would never know. She seems to have very few symptoms and feels fine. Mentally, it has been really hard for both of us.

It all sucks but as she says..."that's life".

Just a quick update since I really haven't said anything in quite a while. It appears that my wife is doing too well on chemotherapy and radio surgery to have to go to Maryland. So as far as I know, we are here to stay.

Oh yeah, we are both much better mentally. I guess you can get used to anything.

Again, sorry for bumping an old thread but it is better than starting a new one.

Jim, thats great news. I hope the positive keeps on for you both. As much as it takes a toll on the one who is sick it also takes toll on the one who cares for them. Do your best to give yourself time each day for you..even if its a 10 minute walk or a deep breath of morning air, clear the head and stay on track. Both my parents founght cancer and survived it. Its a real bitch but make sure to stay positive and never give up. My thoughts, prayers and good vibes out to you both.

Wonderful news Jim. The power in being positive and strong. I read your threads and that is what I get from them when you are referring to your wife's illness.

It is nice to get a few pieces of good news. In the beginning it went from bad to worse every time we saw a doctor.
