looking at it will make me loose weight already, its looking great.

RawAlex 2005-02-27 04:55 PM

Jim, that is a heck of a toy... if you can keep the motivation to do the work, you can lose some weight with it, but more importantly you can increase cardio strength that really is the key to health. It's a great way to do thing.

I have been losing so far just by cutting back on snacks, extras, and eating more reasonably. I a few days I might actually add some exercise just to push the number along.

This page is interesting: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calories_burned.htm

It is important to note that 15 minutes of aerobics barely burns the calories in the yogurt I am eating right now. that isn't very much ;-)

Alex

digifan 2005-02-27 09:40 PM

Congrats to both of you guys! And yogurt is very healthy... the plain natural one is the best... :)

189... same as yesterday (maybe 189.8 today instead, I don't have decimals!)

I was thinking about this when I got off the tread mill. I weigh myself after I get out of the shower each day - nice & clean & no excess weight :D

The time I shower each day varies, but I really can't remember the last time I showered without "working" 1st, let alone waiting until after I work out a bit & eat breakfast.

Remember back to when you had a real job....it's 12:30 PM EST right now. Real people have showered, eaten breakfast, driven to work, worked 1/2 a day & are probably enjoying their lunch right about now.

It's good to be a webmaster :D

mmm your lazy , i get up at 5 morning, drink a can of black coffee shower myself, pull the kids out at 7 and at 8 bring them to school, on this moment i dont see a different with my old job it was the same, i get up at 5 and went to work early so i could be home early, maybe it will be diffeent when my kids are out f the house, well i can dream on, they just told me they never go out of the house |cry| oke one thing i can take days of when ever i want :D

Jim 2005-02-28 12:57 PM

My wife's new toy just arrived. It came in a box the size of a refrigerator and weighs 264 pounds. I am going to kill myself just getting it upstairs :)

cd34 2005-02-28 01:02 PM

How much weight do you think you will lose carrying it upstairs? Care to make it a contest? I'll bet you can't lose 6 pounds carrying it upstairs. haha

RawAlex 2005-02-28 01:13 PM

It's really funny... explaining to my friends that the toughest part of my morning commute is deciding if I should get a coffee first, or if I will get one in a while. I typically am on the computer until 2 or 3 am, and I don't get up until at least 10am. I am sure some people think I am crazy, but you gotta love being able to set your own hours.

Why don't adult shows have anything before noon? because NOBODY WOULD SHOW UP!

:-)

I bought a new scale yesterday and I lost 3 pounds from last night till this morning :) It doesn't take much for me to lose weight.

RawAlex 2005-02-28 02:03 PM

Jim, that means you have a bunch of "water weight"... weigh yourself one time each day, at the same part of the day (I recommend in the morning before you eat, example). You will be measuring the same thing every day, and you will see the real trends. Try to be wearing the same thing (sock are good) each day.

Just eating and drinking can push your weight up a few pounds just like that. Clothes, wallet, cell phone... all of it can add up to extra pounds. When GG and I started this thing, I took a test picture fully loaded, and it came up to 203 pounds. It doesn't take much :-)

What she said.. no need to hate yourslef it just takes time and the weather changes also can have an effect.. when cold weather is coming we don't lose weight easy :)

RawAlex 2005-02-28 07:40 PM

Greenguy, truth is unless you are quite a bit overweight, 1 pound every 2 - 3 days is about normal... anything more than that, you really have to force. You can lose a little bit to start with pretty quickly, but after that, it's all work.

I will probably be flat again tomorrow, I ate a bunch today ;)

Jim 2005-02-28 08:09 PM

Well, I did about 1/2 hour on the treadmill. Remember, I have never used one before. I did 2, 5 minute sessions of a program that was supposed to last 20 mins and almost died. But, this treadmill has a heart rate monitor and it controls a 20 min program for you. It takes your heart rate to a place safe but running fast and keeps it there for about 15 mins. I finished that :) My son and I almost killed ourselves bringing it upstairs. It would not fit through the doorway or up the stairs the way you would want to move it. So, we had to move it sideways :)

RawAlex 2005-03-01 02:35 PM

I had to run off this morning (I was late to pickup my girlfriend, sorry!), so I didn't take a picture, but safe to say "the same as yesterday"... today I might get a little exercise, so we will see in the morning.

I just bought a beautiful excersice bike last week. Even has a built-on fan. I haven't yet, but I can hook it up to my computer and the maker's website has a bunch of excercise programs that will take control of the bike. Sounds neat. Came home the other day and one my dogs had destroyed one of the pedals. Friggin' mutant boxers.

Mystery meat stew anyone?

It's like an epidemic :) There are some pretty simple methods helping to lose weight... I am thinking of swimming or jogging of course, what else :D

RawAlex 2005-03-02 10:37 AM

Use a thinner layer of butt paste and that should trim a few ounces.

We are rolling right along... my actual goal in reality is something like about 170, doctor says 165 and I think he is nutty. We'll see. 170 by august in Florida is looking like a concept. :-)
