The tentative NHL schedule for Round 2 has the first games starting either next Friday or Saturday. Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place has booked Dora the Explorer, a children’s show, for next Saturday and Sunday, meaning the Sens would have to open on Friday night. Holy Shit! I can't believe Dora's making the schedule for Round 2 of the NHL Playoffs! |
That is totally fucked up. I am probably going to grab some tickets if I can for game 1 or 2 and a Satuday or Sunday game would have been much better than a Friday or Monday game. And 2 days in between is stupid.
WTF books the place the Senators play during the playoffs for 2 nights in a row? One night can easily be worked around but 2 is tough. |
Maybe Dora can referee a game or so.:D
GO SENS! btw |
FUCKING DORA!!!!!
Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. - Buffalo at Ottawa Monday, May 8 at 7 p.m. - Buffalo at Ottawa Wednesday, May 10 at 7 p.m. - Ottawa at Buffalo Thursday, May 11 at 7 p.m. - Ottawa at Buffalo Saturday, May 13 * at 7 p.m. - Buffalo at Ottawa Monday, May 15 * at 7 p.m. - Ottawa at Buffalo Wednesday, May 17 * at 7 p.m. - Buffalo at Ottawa * if necessary |
That is pretty sad that they have no faith in their own team to allow anything to have 2 days in a row during the playoffs.

Torn
I agree it is pretty stupid to schedule the stadium for some kids lame ass show. The city fully expects Ottawa to go far in the playoffs too. Buffalo is going to be tough and New Jersey looks good. I hope Carolina beats them. Calgary? WTF happened? I cannot believe they lost that series. I think this is a first. Seeds 1-2-3-4 ALL lost in round 1 moving all the bottom seeds 5-6-7-8 into round 2 in the West. Wow! |
I'm a bit depressed that Calgary lost as well - them & Edmonton would have been a great series.

Quite possibly the BEST hockey game I have ever seen! (and I'm not talking about the CBC HD Feed)
Sabres 7, Senators 6 OT |thumb Say goodbye to Home Ice Advantage Ramster |waves
Hahaha, that is true. Losing game 1 at home is not good. :(
It was a great game! The passes for open net goals were great plays by both teams, wow! 1 team would score then the other would, it was insane. I was a little dissappointed in our goalie Emery. I thought he let in a few weak goals. Next game Monday! Torn I hope you're rooting for Phoenix. Anyone else tired of how great Kobe is? He is good no doubt, but when they were up 3-1 everyone was saying Kobe is the real MVP...not Nash. Gimme a break. |
Buffalo Sabres epitomized tenacity and CAPITALIZED on silly giveaways last night. And the Ducks spanked the Avs like they were a spoiled child. Great hockey last night and I was glad to see that the refs made the calls that were supposed to be made!

Nash wins NBA MVP award again
Player Team Points
Steve Nash (57) Suns 924 LeBron James (16) Cavs 688 Dirk Nowitzki (14) Mavs 544 Kobe Bryant (22) Lakers 483 Chauncey Billups (15) Pistons 430 Dwyane Wade Heat 87 Elton Brand (1) Clippers 50 Tim Duncan Spurs 33 Tony Parker Spurs 9 Allen Iverson Sixers 1 Shawn Marion Suns 1 _____________________________________ I really thought Billups would have had more votes, but Nash is on fire. |
Chauncey did have a great year but Nash was great. LeBron is the new kid on the block and his team is looking good with him, Kobe is Kobe, damn good and Dirk makes his team a contender.
Nash for sure as you said he is on fire. Sooooooo glad to see them win game 7. :) |
I'm surprised Lebron finished second. I thought that more people would hold his age against him.
I think Billups problem was that Detriot had 4 all-stars. |
SABRES :D

Just been wondering
Does anyone remember any single athlete that can be “held responsible” for destroying a franchise? This is for any sport. I just have been thinking about this for a while and of course I am referring to Ron Artest and how his actions have destroyed the Pacers.
He was a “throw in” with Brad Miller (Who was the one the Pacers wanted) from Chicago and became a All Star and Defensive Player of the Year even while missing 22 games I think due to suspensions and then of course the brawl in Detroit which cost him a year and then after standing by him all that time and having huge expectations he cries to the paper about wanting to be traded and is finally traded to Sacramento for Peja. But when you look deeper he is “responsible” for much more. Al Harrington was a bench player who was only on the bench due to Ron being a starter, was/is a future All Star for sure, so the Pacers give Al the chance to become one and trade him to Atlanta where he is expected to be the top FA this summer with rumors of the Bulls and Lakers trying to free up big time $ to get him. Peja who was traded for Ron, is bothered that he was traded from the Kings and even though he is making $8 million a year already wants to exercise a clause in his contract and is now a FA with one more year left on his contract. Now look how close the Pacers came from the Finals in 2004 and they was the #1 pick in 2005 until the brawl. In 2006 they once more were the odds on favorite with the Pistons and what happens? Ron once more talks and completely demoralizes the team who then finish 41-41 and lose 4-2 in the first round and from reports, no one wants to play with anyone else. Now O’Neal is saying its time for him to go as well, he is still a big supporter of Isaiah Thomas who was the Pacers coach and is now the GM for the Knicks (great player, no clue on management or how to coach) so there is talks of O’Neal going to NY or Minnesota or even back to Portland, which is fine by me since he gets hurt putting his shoes on and miss’s weeks at a time too much. So can anyone think, in any sport, where one person can be “blamed” for such a down fall in such a short time for a franchise? |

Hi Ramster? Cocksucker... :D
Goddam the Sabres are pissing me off. Ottawa isn't playing great neither and getting no breaks. A fluttering puck beats our goalie...damn! Game 4 tonight? I think Hasek might play. Good luck... here we come ;) |
Jaguars WR Jimmmy Smith retires after 12 seasons

The 37-year-old receiver led the Jags with 70 catches for 1,023 yards and six touchdowns last season. He ranks seventh in NFL history with 862 receptions and 11th in receiving yards. He has more receptions than every receiver in the Hall of Fame, and only Marvin Harrison has more catches and yards receiving than Smith since 1996. |

Good Bye Ottawa...Hello Eastern Conference Finals |thumb

Damn damn damn! I was pumped this year for hockey honestly more than I have been any other year.
I have said from DAY ONE, Emery was not the goalie to get us to the promised land. Though he did play well overall, in the playoffs you cannot let in ANY soft goals and win on a consistent basis. Just ask Bobbie Clarke. And why are the TV guys not really commenting on some of the goals? Am I the only one that thinks he played soft at times? Hmmm. Congrats to Buffalo! At least I like them. Hopefully Carolina gets by NJ, I like them too. |
Way to go Buffalo!|thumb
The Sabres are playing great playoff hockey and that's all that counts. As for Ottawa, they played like the chicken sh-ts they are (no offense to Sens fans on this one) and they deserved the early exit. I would not be surprised if this team gets ripped apart in the off season after seeing this type of performance. As for Emery - he is the real deal, sorry Ramster. The problem with Ottawa in this game was there was 3 players that allowed Chris Drury to skate in UNTOUCHED and undress Emery. Your goalie is supposed to be your last line of defense - not your only line of defense. It was ridiculous. There is no way you can blame Emery for that. I really like Buffalo's chances. They are the real beast of the east and whomever they square off against had better bring their 'A' game or they are done too. I still think Buffalo vs. Jersey in the east and Anaheim vs. Edmonton in the west.|loony
pornrex
I do agree to some extent. The defense overall sucked bad!! Letting Drury walk in front of the net was terrible. What was Phillips thinking? I don't know. Too many turnovers at bad times too. Emery played well, don't get me wrong. But he didn't play great and he let in bad goals at bad times. Even the announcer in tonight's game between Carolina and New Jersey when Martin Brodeur poke-checked the Carolina player said had the Ottawa goalie done that last night they'd still be playing. Emery didn't freeze the puck with 10 seconds left in game 1. After a terrible turnover Emery let in a wrist shot from far out in game 1 overtime...a wrist shot. That series winner last night again not really Emery's fault. But Emery didn't poke-check the guy and let him walk right out front and tuck it in. You cannot do that in the NHL!! Though Emery did play good overall...he just let in "questionable" goals at Very bad times. Bad defense and bad goals allowed by the goalie is why Buffalo beat Ottawa. Not taking anything from Buffalo because they are a damn good team of course. How sweet would it be to see San Jose in the finals after Boston traded Thornton? Looks good on them for making a trade like that. Idiots. LOL |
Well, there ya have it: Buffalo vs. Carolina - should be a great series.

Carolina looks good. But I am now officially on the Buffalo bandwagon. :D
The Buffalo and Carolina series is going to be a good series. Fast young players who really want to win bad. I don't think these teams were even picked to make the playoffs this year and one of them is going to the finals. Goes to show you how young talent with desire can win you games. The good news is with Ottawa out and Buffalo in my hockey pool is looking okay as I have Briere. ;) |
Doug Flutie retires, to work as analyst for ABC, ESPN
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2445409
Doug Flutie retired from pro football Monday, ending a 21-year career in which the Heisman Trophy winner puzzled both opposing defenses and his own coaches with his unconventional style at quarterback. |
Flutie was great. Loved his style of play and he had the heart of a Lion.
